Publisher's summary

She’s mine. She just doesn't know it yet.

My boss swore kidnapping the accountant’s daughter would be quick and easy. Just find the girl at the wedding, stuff her into a car, and let someone else drive her off. My last dirty job before I get promoted.

I wasn’t supposed to dance with her all night.

I wasn’t supposed to kiss her, hook up with her outside the wedding, or beat up the getaway driver up when I found him in the parking lot, totally f--king wasted.

And I absolutely wasn’t supposed to drive her to the safe house myself, but here I f--king am. Stuck in the desert with this gorgeous firecracker who’s stubborn as a mule, beautiful as hell, and determined not to give in to me for even one second.

I can handle her just fine. Hell, I’m street muscle for the biggest drug cartel in North America.

But the only thing more dangerous than doing my job? Not doing my job.

And when the order comes down and I have to choose between her and the cartel who’s been my whole life....

I might have to rethink some career choices.

Loaded is a full-length, 90,000-word, completely standalone romance.

Save Me

Alex and Tessa are hot hot hot 🔥🔥🔥🔥. Tessa is your average everyday woman - boring job, boring ex, hopeless boring lovelife. She has just been sort of coasting through her life and really that has been okay with her but a little excitement wouldn't hurt... right? Oh boy was she wrong ! The handsome and saucy stranger she meet at her friends wedding was just going to be some "guess what I got drunk and did at Karen's wedding" story but it was going to be more like a story on Dateline. Apparently her seemingly boring father is the accountant for a notorious criminal organization and now he wants to turn states evidence and to keep him quiet they have decided to kidnap her as leverage. Oh and the sexy man flirting and hooking up with her turns out he's her would be kidnapper. Just perfect. Now she is stuck with a man whom used her until her father capitulates or who knows what will happen. Alex thought he was done with jobs like this when he was promoted up from muscle, but here he is with a woman he can't get out of his head that unfortunately now can't stand him. The longer he spends with the beautiful, smart, strong, and crazy mouthy Tessa the harder it is becoming to do his job. He knows what he has to do but it conflicts so much with what he wants and needs to do. The chemistry between them is nuclear and he cannot ignore it for much longer and neither can she no matter the fact that he kidnapped her. Alex will have to betray the people he works for, give up his life, and go on the run but keeping Tessa safe is worth the risk. Now he will just have to convince the girl that the a thug like him has more to offer than a wild ride.

Narration - Callie and Gomez are delicious as Tessa and Alex! This book has heat galore and they nailed it

Loved....

This book was everything. The cartel, great sex, addictive characters and the narrators....omg. Hot, Hot Hot! I love G. Pugh. He always bring it. I was a little annoyed at how the female character was in denial about how she felt about Alex but eventually she came around.

Dark love story. 1POV. HEA. Standalone.

Hold on a second. I need to catch my breath. This story was a really “hot damn” listen. Not only was the writing great, the narration was awesome. Callie always kills it, but Gomez was-I’m not embarrassed to say it- off the charts hot. This book was a great combo of sexy, dark and funny.

Good until...

This book was GREAT until about the last 2 1/2 hours where the storyline went out the window and all it became was sex. Literally 2 of those hours was sex. At one point, 1 hour and 16 minutes of it was absolutely NOTHING but sex. I'm sure there will be plenty of people who eye roll at this review as I always see people complaining about how crazy it is that someone would complain about that, but, before you judge me, hear me out. I love a solid steamy scene. I love multiple steamy scenes actually- the raunchier, the better. Up until the last 2 1/2 hours the majority of the scenes were PERFECTLY timed and put in in crazy, awesome moments. My issue with it all is when the story is gone and that's all there is. I want to see the characters come together and really start to connect on a deeper (no pun intended) level than just the physical. I could have skipped over the last 2 1/2 hours and just jumped to the epilogue and honestly, the story would have felt complete. It was like the author just wanted to add time/words to the book so she just kept typing and typing and typing and that's what came out. I feel like the characters got cheated out of having their deep, meaningful moments.

Prior to the last 2 hours, I was totally enamored with this book. The story line isn't 100% original, but it's also not overdone and there were some unique aspects to the story. I like seeing Tessa kind of come into her own and become more bold. She was funny and a little clumsy in the beginning, but then started embracing herself after the kidnapping. I will say I didn't like the way she treated Alex towards the end. I thought he deserved better and a bit more grace for everything he'd done for her and it broke my heart how she treated him. I liked Alex from the start. He was bound by his morals and also by the cartel he was working for. His back and forth with his loyalty to his boss and his feelings for Tessa felt real and genuine.

The story was fast paced and action packed from the get go. It didn't take long for things to start happening and once they did it was pretty non-stop. I really enjoyed that. I would have liked a little more conflict where the cartel was concerned because I felt like that wrapped up pretty easily, but again, the story basically stopped for more sex.

Callie Dalton is my all time favorite narrator, so I can't say enough good things about her. Her male voice is one of my favorites and I honestly wish she just narrated the whole thing. That's not to say Gomez Pugh did a bad job, but his female voice is not the best. This probably would have been better in a duet style narration than the dual it's in. I was also expecting his voice to be deeper because the only other book I've listened to by him was Luna and the Lie and his voice is very, very deep in that one. I was surprised when he started reading. I did enjoy him, though, and would still listen to other books he narrates.

Overall, I recommend this book up until the last 2-2 1/2 hours. If you're fine with the story line taking a back seat to sex, then you'll definitely love this one.
