Publisher's summary

The second book in the Westbay City Mystery series.

Luke thought he had gotten the easiest case in his budding career as a private investigator. He felt sorry for the client who was paying him and promised he’d get it resolved in record time.

Everything was going according to plan…until shady characters, hazardous encounters, and the death of a key witness rendered his easy case the worst nightmare from the pit of hell.

When he's identified as a suspect in the murder, he realizes he's been on nothing but the road to disaster.

Will he be able to clear his good name, identify who's really on his team, and find an evil genius who knows his every move?

Book two in an intriguing series that'll leave you listening late into the night. They say difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations, but has Luke Botha gotten on a road beset with diabolical characters, unsolvable challenges, and a limited time before his hunting expeditions for the truth make him the hunted one?

Luke ends up deeper then he wanted

Luke takes a new case of a missing husband and thinks it will be a quick & simple case. The problem is the husband turns up dead and now he is hired by the same woman to find out why. Turns out the husband's currier business had a VIP part where he would himself deliver the packages. This leads to some interesting people Luke has to contact and speak with. The Narrator does a Great job with the characters and Storyline.

Looks deceive!

Luke’s entrance into the private investigator world is in full swing, with his new company taking cases and paying the bills. We still see some of the same issues from the first book surface (a divorce in the works), but also witness Luke distracted by a pretty face, which almost ends up being his downfall. Luke learns a little late that looks can be deceiving, and that you should always have it in writing. A good second book in the series. Grant Love did an awesome job narrating yet again!

quite interesting

This certainly took a dark and nasty turn at the end. I too would like to know the reason for the murder. I suspect it is as Luke guessed. I really had no idea who the perpetrator was and was surprised at the reveal. I enjoyed the journey. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.
