Great Murder Mystery

Luke and his associates investigate a murder by poison. The story is well planned, fast paced and action-packed. Narrator Grant Love delivered a great audiobook.

A twisted story of politics and murder.

Received as an audio copy to review from the narrator, this is an honest review. Performed amazingly by Grant Love, Bump in the Road finds Luke Mbeki getting roped into the messy world of politics as a prominent election takes hold on West Bay City. While Luke and his colleagues work to solve two murders and bring justice to each victim; the opposing political parties that are swirling around him are driving Luke insane. He's also kicking up a wasps nest of what makes the man hate politicians so much: wining an election is like a game of chess and checkmating your opponent means playing shady because they other will, even if you wanted to an play an honest game.

Politics make dirty bedfellows. How true!!! The corruption and betrayals were rampant. You have to watch your back even with those close to you. I had suspicions, but hoped I was wrong. Nope. I was right. Very disheartening, but great story. Helen is like the dirty penny that keeps turning up whether it's welcome or not. She wanted Luke's help on her terms and continued to be a pain. Grow up girl! I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Talk about being caught between a rock and a hard place

Luke gets in a sticky situation where he is working for opposing politicians to solve a murder and provide security solutions. Almost losing a trusted employee and friend because he didn’t want to listen to sound advice, and having to provide an investigation pro bono show that while no one is perfect, Luke has a lot of growing to do if he wants his business and friendships to succeed, and his life to remain intact.
