Publisher's Summary

She's gone rogue.

Seraphina Newsom isn't looking for vengeance...she wants justice. Three years ago, Sera's brother was ruthlessly gunned down by one of Brooklyn's most dangerous mob kingpins. The investigation has stalled out, deemed "too dangerous" by the police commissioner. So to track down the evidence she needs to take down her brother's killer, Sera turns in her hospital scrubs, joins the NYPD, and goes undercover. Unsanctioned. Alone.

He'll live to keep her safe.

With his father behind bars, Bowen Driscol has reluctantly taken over his family's sprawling South Brooklyn crime operation. New York's finest have other plans. By threatening the safety of his sister, they "convince" Bowen to extricate a rogue cop who's in over her head. But when he meets Sera and feels that deep, damning shiver of desire course through him, Bowen knows there's only one way to keep her safe without blowing either of their covers...by claiming her as his own.

Each book in the Crossing the Lines series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.

LOVED IT!

This is the first book I’ve listened to from Tessa Bailey and I loved it! It made me laugh, cry, and HOT!All while I was on the edge of my seat. I love Jill Redfields narration. She does a great job bringing the characters to life and she draws you in to a whole different world. I’m hoping book 2 is just as good if not better.

Risking It All

This is erotica with a side of underdeveloped suspense, which is fine if that's what I'm expecting but disappointing when I meant to buy plot-driven romantic suspense. Tessa Bailey has a talent for witty and smart h/h banter. Sadly, these two characters are humorless drama llamas and unable to talk about much except their throbbing parts.

I'm looking forward to the day when balance between story and sex scenes is restored. Too much of the book devoted to sex is boring. There, I said it.

This should be listed in the Erotica genre.

WOW this could have been a better story. But it was not, and it was dedicated to insta lust and sex. There was about 15% story and 85% sex. Annoying! Way to ruin a story. However, besides the extreme sex the story line was a bit ridiculous to boot.

I didn't care for Bowen or Serafina too much. The story line and plot was just too much idiocy. Save your time and money. There was not much dialogue and what there was of it made you want to gag. Someone says something then 10 pages of inner thoughts later the other person responds. UGH!

As for the narration it was great Jill Fedfield aka Sophie Eastlake was great. She did a great job on the men's voices and reads with emotion. That was the only thing that kept me listening because this was a real struggle to get through.

I cannot recommend this book at all. Sorry Tessa Bailey.

Exceptional Listen!

The negative reviews delayed my starting this one, but I’m so glad I decided to randomly play it on a whim. I regret waiting so long. Outstanding performance by the narrator, fast-paced story, sexy characters and drama... this one has it all. Don’t be put off by a few bad reviews. This is one of the better novels of this genre. I hardly pressed pause on this late night listen. It’s that good.

Great storyline, realistic characters & narration!

Would you listen to Risking It All again? Why?

No need to relisten, actually... but it was an enjoyable book!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Risking It All?

the surprise ending.

What about Jill Redfield’s performance did you like?

Jill pulled off a male Brooklyn tough guy character with ease... she's so awesome. She has the enviable ability to bring a good book to life, and making it an even better book overall!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes... I did want to! Now, to find the author's other books.....

I actually got a little teary eyed with this story! Plus, I'm a sucker for a Dom with an accent!

Narration

I really like Tessa’s books, but
I hated hearing this book narrated. I do not want to hear any book narrated in third person as if I’m in kindergarten. I wasted $20 because I didn’t last an hour.
