Rustle Up A Good Time

I listened to this audio drama on my father’s cassette tapes. I loved it as a child, and when I saw that it was available to be purchased on Audible, I jumped at the chance to hear it again. This time, now that I’m older, I enjoyed it even more. There are nuances in the performance that I didn’t catch when I was young, and it has been a wonderful experience to hear this book again.

Jed Asbury finds the bodies of two men and a woman out in the desert. Naked and bruised from being beaten and left for dead by two men whom he beat at poker, he is desperate for clothes, food, and water. So despite the risk that the Indians might attack, he takes a chance to raid the burned wagon. What he finds makes him wonder if it really was Indians that killed the settlers.

When he makes it back to civilization, he takes on the identity of one of the dead men, Michael Latch. With a new lease on life and a ranch under his belt, he thinks he’s struck pay dirt. But it becomes very clear that his suspicions about the dead settlers were closer than he thought. Now he must face the man who wants the ranch and who will do anything to get it.

With twists and turns, Riding for the Brand is an exciting audio drama that showcases some of the best of Louis L’Amour’s extensive writings. Excitement abounds, and the ending is just perfect. I recommend this audio drama for all those who want a great western read, some fun, and lots of drama.

I love almost All Louis L'Amour!

This is a great dramatazation. Although some details were changed from the original, the general story line is not lost. Both this dramatazation and the original really bring out the internal struggle that Jed Asbury has over lying concerning his identity to gain what is not rightfully his. Well done!

Loved it!

Listened to it with my husband. It was like watching a motion picture with our eyes closed. Great narration, sound effects and dramatisation. We will definitely be listening to more from this collection as they are our new favorite!

Outstanding book by Louis L'Amour

This book was very interesting and keept you interested from the beginning to the end. Louis L'Amour sure knew how to tell a story with all his research about the west is like been actually there. A Masterpiece for sure and the dramatization is even better. I highly recommend Louis L'Amour books to anyone.
