Publisher's Summary

New standalone novel from New York Times best-selling Author J. S. Cooper

I'm Rhett.

I'm cocky because I can be. I've got it all: the looks, the money, the endurance. I'm the guy that every girl wants to be with, yet none of them have ever been able to tie me down.

I don't do love. I don't do relationships. And I sure as hell will never do marriage.

I'm all about the fast life and everything that entails. There's a different woman in my bed every week. My friends are jealous of me. My enemies envy me. Everyone wants my life. And everything in my life is absolutely perfect. At least, that's what everyone thinks.

Everything changed the day, Clementine O'Hara told me she was moving away. She's my best friend. She was my first kiss in grade school. We share everything with each other. She's the only girl I haven't tried anything with because she's off-limits to me and my friends. Only, suddenly I'm seeing her in a different light.

I'm Rhett and I don't let anything get me down. Then one night changed everything and everything I thought I knew was called into question. All of a sudden, being Rhett didn't mean so much anymore. All of a sudden my friendship with Clementine was in jeopardy and I wasn't sure what I was going to do.

Juvenile

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

The protagonist was juvenile and the storyline was cliche.

Would you ever listen to anything by J. S. Cooper again?

Probably not

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I didn't understand why a female was narrating a book told from a male's perspective

Rhett

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, if they were into audio books......I don't know if prefer just to read a book.

What other book might you compare Rhett to and why?

I actually read the book before I listented to the audio book. It was strange to have one voice be all the voices of the book. I am not sure I liked it.

What does Rebecca Roberts bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think her voice impersonations threw me off a bit, I am not sure I liked her voices.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No

Any additional comments?

I suggest different people for differnt voices, esp male to female.

I LOVED THIS AUDIO BOOK

Where does Rhett rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Omg I loved this book so much I needed to hear it read out loud. It was amazing to hear! I would recommend this audio book to all

What was one of the most memorable moments of Rhett?

All of it, the realisation that he is in live with Clem, the friendship they have and connection is powerful.

What does Rebecca Roberts bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brings in the extra needed bits with the voice of characters, I didn't like how she spoke for Clem making her sound small but Clen is small so it kinda works. In my head Clem is a powerful strong woman with a strong woman's voice. But I loved it all

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me laugh and cry. It's a wonderful experience to listen to this being read.

Any additional comments?

You need to buy this audio book, I listened to it in the car, while food shopping, while in the shower. It meant I didn't waste any minute of the day NOT reading.

Hot Rhett

Would you consider the audio edition of Rhett to be better than the print version?

No I love the print version better because when I first read the book I pictured the characters a lot different. So when i started listening to the Audio book it was different but a good different.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Clementine was my favorite character Because I liked her personality in the story and how she knew Rhett so well.

Which character – as performed by Rebecca Roberts – was your favorite?

I liked how the character Thomas was performed.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Falling In Love With My Best Friend

Any additional comments?

I would have love to hear a male voice for Rhett.

Adorable and hottt love story

What did you love best about Rhett?

I loved the development of Rhett and Clementine's friendship and love story :)

Which scene was your favorite?

The First time Rhett and Clementine were intimate :)

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The scene when Rhett visits his mom and realizes that she loves him. I also loved when Rhett realized that he is and has always been in love with Clementine.

Any additional comments?

There was an issue with chapter 2 and 3 where chapter 2 repeated chapter 1 and chapter 3 was the second half of chapter 2. So part of chapter 2 was skipped.

A Sweet & Light-Hearted Best Friend Romance!

Rhett And Clementine's Story Is A Sweet And Light-Hearted Romance About Lifetime Best Friends Finally Taking A Chance On Love. Rhett Is Pitiful And Hilarious At The Same Time As He Stubbornly Resists The Change! Rhett Madison, twenty-one, is finishing his junior year at SC State and life is easy. His wealthy father has a job waiting for him. Girls throw themselves at him thanks to his good looks. He never makes promises, so he doesn't worry himself about their feelings afterward. It doesn't matter that he is arrogant and cocky. Everyone falls for his charm with two exceptions: his father and Clemmie.  Clementine O'Hara has been his best friend since they were seven. She is his rock. Clemmie never holds anything back like the other girls. She is real with him, yet a loyal friend. They do almost everything together. She focuses on her studies, which he admires. He is practically part of her family. Many suggest they behave like an old married couple and assume they are dating, but Rhett would never go there. That would ruin the only relationship that really matters to him.  Rhett never wants to marry. He doesn't believe in love. His parents' failed marriage did a number on him, and when his alcoholic mother walked away from him and his dad ten years ago, it left him with a hole in his heart. But as long as he has Clemmie for a best friend, he doesn't need anything more. When Clemmie announces she wants to date, Rhett is confused because she is supposed to be devoted to her studies. Clemmie insists it is what she wants and warns him that things will change between them, but he stubbornly believes nothing needs to change.  Rhett and Clementine's story is a sweet and light-earted romance about lifetime best friends finally taking a chance on love. Rhett is pitiful and hilarious at the same time as he stubbornly resists the change. His child-like insistence that he and Clementine could indefinitely maintain their intimacy in the context of a friendship reflects his selfish behavior. He is too blind to recognize that he is in love with his best friend and taking advantage of her selfless love for him. But when he feels himself getting pushed out of Clemmie's life, he slowly begins to take stock of his own. The couple earns a lovely HEA. Note: there is a sequel, Rhett in Love, but this book can be read as a stand-alone.  Rhett and Clementine's story is an easy read. It is nicely written. The plot is simple. The characters are uncomplicated but diverting. The dialogue is entertaining. The story is written in first person from Rhett's POV. Hearing the story in his words is he great because he grows tremendously from beginning to end. I rate this book four stars.  I received a free advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.  As for the audio, it is nicely done. Note that at the time of posting, chapter one is repeated - you can just skip ahead to the next chapter to get to chapter two. The very brief epilogue at the end of the book is missing, but completely unnecessary (especially if you listen to the sequel: Rhett in Love, which is a deeper dive as the couple faces the challenges of converting their friendship into a committed relationship).

The players story

I like be that this book is told completely from Rhett's point of view as a Playboy. Lots of twists of emotion in this story, it draws you in right from the start. The time just flys by. Standalone with no cliffhangers

Performance was very good

There are several things to like but there are several other things to not like about the story. And at times it in middle school romance not grown adults by the words that were used to describe things. I personally didn’t like the lack of respect towards women and their behavior as well. However what I might not appreciate doesn’t mean you will feel the same way. The narrator was good though.
