Lila is looking for her Prince Charming, but she hasn't even come close to finding him. She's taking a break to concentrate on her career as a litigation attorney, a job that she doesn't even like. Her neighbor, Danielle, is leaving for England in the next couple of days and her brother is coming to take care of the dog, Frosty. Danielle describes her brother, Carter, as a charismatic, very good looking playboy and she warned Lila that he would be chasing after her. Lila's not worried because she doesn't think that most men would be interested in her. When Carter comes to Lila's door to get the keys, her thoughts go straight to fantasy world. Gorgeous, tall and such a great voice, he's a banker by day, musician by night and just a flirtatious as his sister said he would be. Lila falls under his spell right away and Carter realizes that he wants to spend more time with her. What might have remained casual from the beginning, becomes heated quickly and they're hardly ever apart. When Lila watches his band perform, she finds herself even more under his spell. But there are some problems and they all have to do with Lila's colleague in the law office. Carter is horribly jealous and gets out of line a little too frequently. Yes, her friend from work, Dante, does have designs on her and goes out of his way to ask her to go out for drinks after work. All of this time, Carter and Lila are spending almost all day and all night together, with no end in sight. Oh, but there is an end because as soon as Danielle gets home from England, he'll be gone. Carter and Lila have a basic problem with their relationship and it all comes back to communication. He's not too interested in defining their relationship because he's never wanted to make a commitment. To Lila, the commitment is something she needs to hear. Life sometimes throws a wrench into your plans and deposits it at your door. This is a relatable story with characters that are complex, believable and full of life. Well written!
Laura Jennings does a marvelous job with a narration that is clear and concise, character voices that are easily distinguishable and well-modulated emotion.

Wonderful book

I read this book months ago and was so excited to listen to it on Audible! It did t disappoint. I listened to the hole thing in 1 setting. Am very anxious to read and listen to the Along Came Marriage and see what comes next for these 2. Love listening to and reading books from J.S. Cooper!

Fun story!!

This was a fun story. You’ve got the hot fun loving guy who happens to play music hooking up with the smart straight laced beauty who decides she just wants to have some fun. They have a one night stand that turns into many night stands that turns into oops, so much more lol. I loved how fun they were together, and how even though he kept saying keeping it casual, he was having way more feelings than he was used to. And he didn’t know what to do lol. I very much enjoyed this. And I enjoyed Laura Jennings narration, though I would have preferred a man for the male point of view. Otherwise, I highly recommend 😊

this book was a good listen. I enjoyed it. rhe characters have great chemistry. the book flows smoothly. enjoyed listening to it. i want more from this couple.

Good Read

Along Came Baby was another great read by J.S. Cooper. Lily met her friend Olivia when she moved into the apartment next to Olivia’s. They became friends fast and Lily agreed to meet with Olivia’s brother to give him her house keys to take care of her dog. Carter is her brother and Lily is attracted to him. He is a musician who invites her to his show. They both aren’t looking for a relationship but they can’t fight the attraction. They were always careful except one time that led her to getting pregnant. I enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read more by J.S. Cooper.

Hot Musician

I think the narrators did a great job with the characters. Quick listen that will make you laugh out loud. Lila the lawyer who needs some fun in her life and Carter the musician ready to leave his day job as a banker to bring his band to the top. A few road blocks but love can change hearts. Great book.

Great Book!

I Loved this audio book. it really sounded like different characters. This was a GREAT read! I can't wait to read the next book in the series. It is a sexy hot story with a few twist! My only issue was at the end of the audiobook it skips a few beats and skips the 2nd to last page. I like to read along while the audio reads it. But other than that it is a great book!

J.S. Copper entertains!

This audible version of “Along Came Baby” is a truly fun listen. J.S. Copper has a way of making the listener giggle out loud with her whit. The pacing of the story is perfect and the characters are likable. Like any good romance couple, you grow to love them. You will not be disappointed with this story!
