Fun

This is a quick and delightful read with interesting characters. I appreciate the focus on women post death and divorce in a culture where most of our media is focused on 20 somethings.

Skepticism vs Denial

While I appreciate skepticism in my main characters, this book went too far for me. When you see the impossible and do the unbelievable, the skepticism becomes tedious and annoying. I enjoyed the other characters so I’ll try book 2 but if she doesn’t improve I’ll have to walk away from the series.

Loved Agnes

This new series started a bit on the slow side with a smart, recently divorced news woman who returns to her hometown. She’s unwilling to believe her own eyes & accept her own truth but this progresses well by book’s end & shows promise of becoming a good series. I liked the characters & loved her snarky cat, Agnes.

Light Reading

I liked it enough to continue the series, but consider it light reading. Needs more depth, deeper character development for support characters.

Good clean adult fun

So nice to read a book where the heroine is not a total idiot! This book was a lot of fun.

Great first book

I really loved this first book of the series building up to the witchy parts. The narrator did a great job with all the characters. Can't wait to see where it goes next. Highly recommended.

Intro to a town with witches with a duty

Marzi returns home and finds a magical community. Some LOL moments.
I love the narrator. Without needing "trick" voices, I can follow whose voice is speaking during conversations, which makes it easier to follow.

Loved the characters and the plot. The snarky cat , was very believable! On to the next book.

Great Story

Great story line, fun characters, held my interest just loved everything about it. Can’t wait to listen to the rest.

The heroine’s being deliberately obtuse

I enjoyed the book. The story moves quickly. There’s situational humor, sexy men, and drama. The characters are fun and quirky but the heroine’s ability to completely avoid accepting the paranormal is annoying. I get that she’s a reporter and goes by the facts but how can she deny what happened to or in front of herself? Anyway it’s a fun read and I plan on reading more of the series to see how the potential love triangle develops.
