Publisher's summary

I gave the rumor mill fodder for a lifetime the day I walked away from a lucrative music career without explanation.

People can talk all they like; my record stores are my lifeblood now, and I'm devoted solely to keeping them afloat in the digital age.

There's just one little thing distracting me: an Earth-dwelling sunbeam named Owen Harper. I don't know what I was thinking when I hired him. In fact, maybe, I wasn't thinking, at all.

Quirky and excitable, he's a walking, talking danger to fragile objects. His energy alone could power a small country. That's never been my style. Hell, I was probably cutting my first album while he was cutting teeth. He wants a music career, and I'm done with all that. We couldn't be on more opposite paths.

He's other things, too, though. Things that keep me up late at night. Things that make me forget I'm supposed to be simplifying. And damn does he love to push my buttons.

Now I'm struggling to resist his pull, drowning in the memory of his skin under my hands, his mouth on mine. His laugh.

When a long shadow from my past comes calling with an offer, I'd be stupid to refuse. There's more on the line than the survival of the shops I've dedicated the last 15 years of my life to.

Because, those fragile objects I mentioned earlier? One of them might well be my heart.

Resonance is the second book in the Rhythm of Love series but can be listened to on its own. It's a steamy, slow burn, bisexual, age-gap, boss/employee romance with lots of banter and two obstinate heroes who really, really don't want to want the very thing they both need.

Dan and Owen

I loved Dan’s steadfastness as an anchor to Owen’s off the wall sparkles. It would seem like they wouldn’t work, but they are explosive together! The story is great and Nick J. Russo brings it to life. Total enjoyment.

Loved Dan and Owen!

I absolutely love Dan and Owen. Their personalities are so vastly different, but they both bring out the best in each other and they just somehow...work. I wasn't sure if I was going to like the age-gap aspect of the story just because of how different the two seemed, but I actually really loved it. Owen had a very loving, nurturing quality to him and Dan had a very protective, patient quality and both of them together just fit together perfectly. The age gap wasn't mentioned all too often either, which was nice. It made it less taboo and more like it was just something that was there and it was no big deal.

The story has so much depth and emotion throughout the whole thing. Both Dan and Owen are battling with things from their past. Owen had a pretty sad and terrible upbringing, but somehow managed to be the light in everyone's life. Dan was jaded by his brief stint as a professional musician, but seeing him overcome the feelings of failure in not only his love life, but also his professional life was an uplifting journey.

Nick J. Russo was an AMAZING and I mean AMAZING narrator. If I didn't know there was only one narrator I would have thought there were two. His voices for Dan and Owen, along with all of the side characters, were so different that you could instantly tell who was speaking. He had a deep southern voice for Dan and a lighter, airier voice for Owen. He has such a wide range of voices and I will 100% be looking for other books he's narrated. He was a new-to-me narrator and I'm so glad I took a chance on him.

This book as a whole had me running the gamut of emotions. Happiness, laughter, sadness, heartbreak, worry- you name it, I felt it. Neve Wilder has quickly become one of my favorite authors because she just creates these vivid, unique storylines that suck you in from the get go. If you pick this one up, you won't regret it.

One of my all time faves!

This book had everything! Great story, fleshed out characters that I absolutley adored, sexy as all git out, and Nick Russo narrating! I am fairly new to Neve Wilder and I am so happy to have found her. Her writing is delicious. Not only does she have the sex nailed down... steamy and sensual, but her character's lines... their conversations... pulled me right into their lives. Her books have depth and I found myself wanting to write down some of the wisdom imparted by Dan and Owen. This is a must listen and one of my top faves! Nick Russo's interpretation of Dan had me swooning...that drawl...the husky low tones, the laid back vibe.... he is so good! His interpretation for both characters was perfection. Fell head over heels for Dan and Owen and when Owen laughed....OH MY!!!! There are very few books I'd relisten to this is one of them! Thank you Neve and Nick! Well done!

The bar was set high

Dan Grim is mine.
No, seriously, since his first appearance in Dedicated, I fell for the curmudgeonly, world-weary, mysterious Dan, and pegged Owen as his love interest. I also adored Greg Boudreaux's performance of Dedicated, so Nick J. Russo had two bars to reach, really, and he did so easily.
In the beginning, I think he was a bit uncomfortable with the Southern accent but he worked into quickly, and soon he was voicing my Dan perfectly. Did a great job with Owen, too.
If you've not read the story, it's a slow burn, age gap, grumpy one and sunshine one, boss-employee romance that builds beautifully, and I loved it. Nick did a wonderful job of bringing it to life, and it's going immediately onto my re-listen list!

Truly Amazing

Owen is truly one of the most memorable, lovable characters I've ever come across. Neve Wilder accomplished something truly special in bringing Dan and Owen together so deftly - and Nick J. Russo's ability to fully embody both Dan and Owen was truly next level. Yes, I used truly three times in a row - because I'm a jumbled mess after listening to this. What an amazing experience.

Love this series. Want more!

Beautiful story. The author is great at capturing vulnerability and the way characters grow on each other. Butterflies every time. The narrator is mostly great, though sometimes it throws off the flow of the story when he mispronounces a word, especially in a steamy scene. I mean, you can ask your phone to pronounce it correctly for you, if you're not sure.

A bit mediocre, and missed target

The setup of the story and the backgrounds of the MC are pretty interesting. Unfortunately author didn’t explored the dynamics enough. As a result, the development of relationship and love sounds a bit pushed.

Sex scene was not as steamy as author’s other books.

Missed the target
