Publisher's Summary

Twenty-one-year-old college student, Adriana Nikolas, doesn't really know what to make of Raptor, the sexy biker who seems to be obsessed with getting into her pants. Hot or not, she knows from their first encounter that he's dangerous, both in and out of bed. What Raptor wants, Raptor gets. Right now, he wants Adriana and will do whatever it takes to claim her as his woman. But, she keeps resisting, which isn't something that the road captain of the Gold Vipers is accustomed to. Arrogant, cocky, and stubborn, Raptor takes on the challenge, and in the meantime, gets much more than what he'd bargained for. Meanwhile, Slammer, president of the Gold Vipers, seeks justice for the rape of his Old Lady's daughter.

Raptor

Would you listen to Resisting the Biker again? Why?

Absolutely! I love Raptor and it keeps you guessing! Especially the end! I so can't wait until the next audio book comes out!

Which scene was your favorite?

Too many favorites, but I can tell you the worst! The ending. I wanted to strangle the author for leaving me hanging, but like I said, I loved it! Definitely worth listening to. I recommend giving it a try!

Any additional comments?

Cassie Alexandra is an amazing author, and Nina Sumter did such a fantastic job with the narration, I hope I'm able to hear more from her!

I received a copy at no charge to me from either the author or narrator via Audiobookblast·com

Narration killed it for me

I knew as soon as the opening credits were spoken, that if that same person was doing the full narration, it wouldn’t work for me. That same person did do the full narration.

The storyline is pretty good, I HATE cliffhangers so had I realized this was one, I would likely not have chosen it to start with. The character development is quick, but good. I like that the male stays true to his club and his beliefs, even though he wants the girl. She comes from a very different background that is very unaccepting of her choice to date him. I very much like that she is strong enough to respect her family, but also be strong enough to make her own choices.

Now, narration. Awful. I read in the reviews there were a few others with the same perspective of the narrator sounding VERY immature. Some of the change in voices to fit several characters makes an older person sound akin to Oscar the Grouch or a muppet of some type. The voices of the two main characters are so immature sounding, it almost kills the story. The big, bad, bikers sound like 15 year old boys. The main female sounds like a 14 year old girl with a crush, rather than the affluenty raised 21 year old that she is. The “chuckles” or laughs, which should be sexy or heartfelt sounded like the giggle of a pre-teen on both the male and female parts.

Although I enjoyed the story, I barely made it to the end, with some nails-on-a-chalkboard moments while listening. Ruined it so much for me that as much as I liked the story, I won’t subject myself to trying to listen to the rest of the series. I may choose at some point to read them, but no more audiobooks for me on this one.

A Little Bit of Both

Narration - Nina Sumter - Fabulous, and bad and good and...

This gal has a really great voice and has a male voice that is spectacular - so that's the fabulous part.

The bad is that the rest of her characters are just a bit too - over the top, almost cartoonish as if for a SNL skit. Her rougher male character voices sound a little like Bobcat Goldthwait. It was sort of distracting. IMHO if she kept her main characters as strong as they are and just did a small variation for the other male and female secondary characters it would be a much more enjoyable listen. Ultimately by trying to make each and every character it's own "character voice" without the vocal chords that are capable of such a feat, it ends up sounding more "Saturday Night Live" instead of dramatic. I don't mean this as a slam, because there are very few people out there who have the ability to create dozens of unique sounding voices that are just normal human voices, so keep doing what you're good at and tone down the rest.

The story? Well, this is tough, because I've read some REALLY good MC books and by comparison, this one falls a little short.

The story is written in multiple POV's and frequently switches back and forth within the same chapter and even in the same scene (including switching in the middle of a sex scene). The prologue starts off with a violent rape scene with a character that we only hear little snippets about a few times later in the book. Very little time is actually spent with the MC club, We meet very few of the club members, and get sporadic and limited details regarding their enemy or rival clubs and why exactly they are the type of enemies that would call for this level of violence towards each other.

The two main characters fall in love somehow, but I didn't feel any real connection to either of them or feel like I was along for the process of them falling in love. When the chemistry and banter are right, you find yourself falling in love right along with them and I just didn't get that here. You feel me?

It was ok, but there's definitely room for growth on this one. Finally, be prepared for a whole lot of loose ends and a big ole giant cliff to dangle from in the end.

A great erotic romance story

Would you listen to Resisting the Biker again? Why?

I would listen again. Nina Sumter is a great narrator that can easily do both male and female characters. Speaking of, the characters themselves were interesting and not just bland two dimensional nothings

What was one of the most memorable moments of Resisting the Biker?

The sex scenes

Which scene was your favorite?

When Breaker was killed

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Ride it out....

Some of the narration is hard to take.

I would like to say that I admire anyone who has the gift of being able to narrate. This narrator definitely has some skill but, I was floored that the producer did not have NS re-record some of the voices she used and the “laughs” that she butchered. I really wasn’t sure I was going to be able to finish the book because of the really bad parts, of the narration.
I was able to block out the worst parts of the narration, although there was a lot of eye rolling and cringing.
I enjoyed the plot, overall, with the exception of some annoyance at the Heroine’s Mother for her closed mindedness and prejudice; a pet peeve of mine. Worth a credit? I’m not sure I would have spent a credit, out of sure principle. This tale was broken into two books which would have been a rip off, if this series wasn’t in the Romance package and ,therefore, included in the monthly romance fee.

Great story, annoying narration

The story was great. I love these two. The pronunciation of several words was annoying but it wasn’t the worst. Sometimes, the narrator made the heroine seem whiny, and that wasn’t my take on her at all. The mother’s Portuguese accent sounded more Russian at times.
Annoying words: kitten, mountain, button, frightened, motorcycle...it must have been her accent. I swear I’m not petty, it was just my take.

Maybe Read The Book

The Narrator was horrible. All the voices she tired did not work. I mean guys that are supposed to be bad a**, sounded like a “nerd”. The villain sounded like the Cookie Monster.
The story it self is good and I have to continue the series because it ends on a cliff hanger....

Good story, good narration

An interesting story with a hot biker- sounds good to me. Liked narrators ability to switch gender voices well.

Young bikers

Good girl meets bad boy and culture shock sets in. His world is full of danger and her world is college and work. This book in the series was fast moving and had it's share of shocking events.

Fantastic book but not a fan of the narrating

I loved this book, had me hooked the whole time. The only down side was the narrating, It was terrible in my opinion... Hard to take serious at the start with the over enthusiasm of some of the voices
