Great story!!

As with book one when the hobbs think the hero raped the heroine and instead of just telling them he wasn't raping her she just keeps "staring at them wide eyed " and having thoughts like "there's no time for me to argue with them right now" without even having tried explained that HE DIDN'T rape her.. . you know the sentence that would've immediately resolved the misunderstanding...there's a scene identical in this where he believes shes self harming and instead of just saying "no I just itch " she just keeps thinking "what can I do to make him believe me...I care what he thinks of me" and again she could just tell him her wounds itch and she's SCRATCHING them. It's so frustrating when authors write absurd misunderstandings that could be so easily resolved just to create a conflict.

Aside from a couple of things that drove me insane (irrationally insane)...it was a great story overall! I'd still recommend it to anyone.

p.s. I cannot wait for Baskian's book!!!

Also - When will Beth's Stable be on audiobook?!

Love this story but the Narration is where it’s at!

The narration is just amazing! He brings every character to life and they live because of him!

Standard sequel

This was quite the departure from the 1st book. Most of the humor is stripped away and added is a large dose of pain and angst. And that's okay, if you're looking for a book that examines the healing power of love.

Personally, I found it too heavy to be emotionally fulfilling. YMMV.

SPOILERS:
The most compelling aspect of their relationship was that they were definitely soulmates, having awareness of each other their entire lives, across galaxies. Very heartwarming.

I also liked that they explored 4 characters' struggles with a pregnancy resulting from rape and what that would mean to him/her. 4 very different points of view.

I do need to mention that, IMO, the author misportrayed the other human females' reactions and actions toward Callie, who was brutally raped in front of them all. Many of the women gossiped about her and the extended rape experience openly in front of the victim. They also said unkind things about her personally. I call BS. Each woman's experience at the auction was different, but had the potential to be the exact same as Callie's. I can't see their unkind reactions actually happening. But then again, maybe I have too much faith in humans.

Creepy

This storyline was interesting and creepy at the same time; I’m hooked on the storyline and the narrator; Nick makes me laugh at his reading of the characters thoughts out loud. I could truly empathize with the main characters. Looking forward to listening to the next book!

Nick Cracknell needs 10 stars!

Ok, Narration was great! Loved the story line and the characters were very interesting. If you're in doubt of this series just get the first book and try it. You won't be disappointed if you like rough but loving aliens. ; }

Loved the hero, but the "heroine" was a dud,

loved the first book, but this one made me want to bitchslap the "heroine". She was a head case and a bitch. I can't stand romances where the Hero constantly gets shit on no matter how hard he tries. That's not romantic, that's emotional abuse. Just my 2 cents.

Narrator

This book had some dark moments, some funny moments. The most important there was a great story. I really enjoyed listening to the narrator. He brought out the characters personality’s beautifully. I don’t usually like listening to just one narrator reading all the voices. I would definitely buy more books with Nick Cracknell as the narrator. Super disappointed that he wasn’t the narrator for the rest of this series.

Cracknell is fabulous

Cracknell did a fantastic job with both male and female voices. The story, characters, and romance were wonderful. I hope the rest of the series comes out soon on audio.

Bit slow but worth the read

This book was a bit slow in places, particularly in the first half but other than that its a really good read.

Awesome narrator brings this to life.

I love these books. This one was a bit more of a slog bc of the trauma the fmc has endured, but Zadeon is so wonderful.
