This book had some dark moments, some funny moments. The most important there was a great story. I really enjoyed listening to the narrator. He brought out the characters personality’s beautifully. I don’t usually like listening to just one narrator reading all the voices. I would definitely buy more books with Nick Cracknell as the narrator. Super disappointed that he wasn’t the narrator for the rest of this series.

Ok, I see how the mention of rape might turn some readers off; however, the author focuses on Callie moving past the rape with the help of her friends and alien mate. “Z”as Callie’s Rakhii mate is the nicest, most patient, protective, and supportive mate a human could ask for not to mention tall and muscular. Honestly, the book covers don’t do the Rakhii mates justice the covers are just plain repulsive to horrific not to mention way different from book to book. The horrible covers on majority of the books in this series is why I didn’t read this series long time ago. It took me preserving through one book to understand how some of the alien races relate to each other. The book has lots of alien/ human couples interacting with each other for some hilarious moments that lighten the book throughout. An additional bonus is as the couple pair off and give birth to their precious alien human hybrids.

Beautifully done

The audio started with a warning. Amanda Milo did not shy away from the hard subjects in this book. This book is quite a ride. There are moments I was so frustrated and times I was cheering Callie on. Even better than the first book .

Sad but happy ending

The first two chapters are a bit disjointed, but written from the female perspective. You have a 2nd hand account of what she goes thru being raped and how she recovers. The protagenist is her own mind in this storyline. Z has his own set of issues to deal with and by the end it makes for a happy ending. I can relate closely to things that happened and how she had to make sense of it all. It's a book that won't be for everyone but I'm glad I read it and will be buying nore of Amanda Milo's. Her Z is heart melting!!
