What’s more intimidating than rescuing a forty-ton whale? For Elise Giordano, it’s talking to someone she admires, particularly if that someone is Sasha Jeffries. Sasha is the confident, captivating leader of the New England Marine Animal Rescue, where Elise volunteers. Gorgeous and adventurous, Sasha is the woman of Elise’s dreams…but Elise figures Sasha needs her like a fish needs a bicycle.

But then, before sunrise one summer morning, Sasha calls Elise’s cell phone. A mother humpback whale and her calf are in trouble, and only the NEMAR crew can save them. It’s the perfect opportunity for Elise to show Sasha just how dedicated to animal rescue she is, and maybe even impress her a little. But this rescue draws the women closer together than Elise could ever have dreamed of.
