Publisher's Summary
Valerie Peters is done with bad boys and ready to start living for herself. She's determined to settle for nothing less than a romantic, sweeps-you-off-your-feet, nice-guy. So when a sexy firefighter with the hottest reputation in town saves her from near-drowning, there's no doubt he's everything she shouldn't want.
Donovan's looks and image have kept his nights entertaining and his ring finger empty. One-night stands serve as a short-term distraction to the flashbacks of his past he increasingly struggles to ignore. But a chance encounter with his best friend's sister makes him realize that one night is no longer enough.
Together, they discover that bad can actually be the best and forever is worth everything.

Wow!!
I loved this book! The story is realistic, full of hope and emotions, plus some heart wrenching feelings. The author Kim Loraine is very talented. This book is the second in a series, but is a standalone. Characters from the previous book are woven into this one. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher. I thought the narrator Susan Fouche did an excellent performance . She captured the emotions well in her delivery.

A Good Book
Where does Renovation rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I wasn't really in the mood to listen to a Romance book when I listened to this one so I would not be a fair ranking.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Renovation?
My original review disappeared so I can't remember. I liked how she became a swimming instructor and worked with the handicap.
Have you listened to any of Susan Fouche’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
N/A
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Hot Firefighter Finds His Forever Sweetheart
Would you listen to Renovation again? Why?
I would definitely listen to Renovation again so that I might discover some facts that I may have missed the first time about the events in Valerie and Donovan's that caused them to be wary about falling in love with each other.
What other book might you compare Renovation to and why?
I listened to a great book by Ellie Wade called "A Beautiful Kind of Love". Both of these books have characters with intense emotions and situations that everyone can identify with. Life is not easy and these books show that life's hardships can be overcome with love and patience.
Which scene was your favorite?
I really enjoyed the scene in which Donovan went to Valerie's parents' house and had dinner. Her mom and dad's interactions with the couple added so much realism to the book.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Donovan's panic attacks were severe and I totally sympathized with him since I suffered from the same illness in my past--though not for the same reasons. His situation was much more sorrowful than what I experienced but I still could understand how he felt.
Any additional comments?
I would like to hear more books in this series. The writer and the narrator are amazing and I really enjoyed the story and listening to this book !

However, I would definitely spend a credit on this book and any sequels and possibly more from the author and the narrator. I had a hard time putting this one down... Even better than book one!
--I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
LOVED this. I have to say, I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but there is something about this one that I just loved. I think it is the firemen....OK while I love the firemen, this story was romantic, has suspense, a love triangle and real life issues. Listening to this story and hearing how Valerie and Donovan overcome many obstacles kept me interested. There were times when I wanted to shake Valerie and make her tell Donovan she loved him, but her past with poor relationship choices(Hated Mick...what a jerk, and Blake..totally fake and what a twist with him in the end!) made her very cautious. Donovan had to learn to deal with his PTSD of losing John and also with his family. His childhood is heartbreaking and leads to a very horrible result as an adult(don't want to give too much away!).
Through it all, their love prevails and it was a very enjoyable book. While book 2, I think you can listen to this without the first book, though I do recommend them in order. The background is helpful.
Susan Fouche does a wonderful performance of the characters. Her voice is rich and even bringing Drew and Mick in with their Scottish accents was warm and easy to listen to.

This author... I didn’t love the first book, but was curious about this one, so I tried it. I enjoy a lot of the parts...and then I’m baffled with her writing during others. Just really choppy and seems like she’s trying to throw together several plot issues, but doesn’t fully deal with any of them. It’s just not the best writing.
