Publisher's Summary

Renegade Star: Publisher's Pack 6 contains Books 11 and 12 of the Renegade Star series.

Renegade Descent, Book 11:

The Celestial War has arrived.

Captain Hughes and his team of rebels have created a shaky alliance with the same government that sought to end them, but even that might not be enough. In order to combat the Celestial threat, Jace will need to convince the Sarkonian Emperor to not only join his cause but lend him the resources he needs to overpower the enemy.

The battle for tomorrow will take more than any single empire can manage. Each side will have to learn to work together if they ever hope to overcome their shared enemy, but allies are not easily made from enemies, and not everyone will be as eager to stand side-by-side.

With allies like the Union and the Sarkonians, who needs enemies?

Renegade Rising, Book 12:

The Great Celestial War isn't coming. It's already here.

After taking over the artificial metal planet from the enemy, Jace must focus his energies on locating Athena, the missing Cognitive and one of the greatest intelligence assets to ever exist.

But Athena's whereabouts are entirely unknown. With no sign or clue to guide the search, Jace must continue to explore the many layers deep inside the planet, for they hold many secrets and technological wonders that reach far beyond what anyone can imagine.

And somewhere deep inside the walls of this ancient place, someone is listening. An intelligence of unknown origins has been watching and waiting, spying on the humans. Their motives are unknown. Their identity is unknown. Their allegiance is unknown.

But a Renegade never falters, and Jace has a job to do.

If you're a fan of Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, or Indiana Jones, you'll love this space opera epic.

Luke Daniels makes this book amazing!

What a great narrator. Luke makes this series come alive. Even if the story isn’t quite at the same level. But its a fun series.

Wait for the BLOOPERS!

Another great success by ALL! Seriously, J.N. Chaney and Luke Daniels are my new favorite dream team!

The story, storytelling, and narrating... EPIC!

This universe has me completely captivated, and it's nice to see the Union, Sarkonian, and Renegades (Earth) all working together, finally! Such a needed reprieve, to combat the Celestial.

Anxiously awaiting to find out how everything works out with Athena, and hopefully put my doubt's to rest about Carl.

Like Abigail, I'm still on the fence with him.

Hughes is getting maudlin

While it’s nice that the protagonist cares about his people, Hughes overdoes it to the point of annoyance. He’s like this big smothering mother hen. Always trying to keep his people from going into danger then getting extremely emotional when he thinks one of them is hurt or in danger. This should be an exploration and survival story with lots of dangers and battles. Yet the head character is acting as though he’s a headmaster at a kindergarten full of entitled ankle-biters. Gets annoying after a while.

Worth the wait!

Luke Daniels does it again. The audio 2-for-1 has been a long time coming and it did not disappoint.
SPOILER WARNING
Renegade Descent (#11 in the series) opens with Lucia's funeral, which really hit the heartstrings. A sad start and, of course, the trials and tribulations of the Renegade crew are far from over. The Celestials are on the verge of attacking and Athena is missing. In order to get her back, Jace and co. must embark on another dangerous mission.
In Renegade Rising (#12 in the series), humanity has taken over the great metal ship, Tartarus. As they plan for the future, they realize they aren't alone.
It's a wild ride and things are heating up for the end of the series. Can't wait for the next!

Luke Daniels and JN Chaney are a perfect match

I've listened to everything Chaney has released. This series is my second favorite right after the Variant Saga. He always delivers a compelling story, but when you mix that with Daniels' voice you get something special. More please!

Fantastic

I dove into audiobooks about four months ago. Since that time I have plunged into over 36 books. Can’t seem to put this series down every single one of these books has been riveting in detail. The voice actor is phenomenal, his ability to incorporate different voices for every character has impressed me so far and I’m sure will continue as the series develops. Something that is new to the series that has not been in previous books is at the end there was a blooper reel of him messing up lines that was about four minutes long but it was hilarious I cannot wait to download the next publisher pack and continue this journey through space with the gang!

Good

Like all the rest a good book with great narration. Just a little bit less of the human having superpowers and it would be great.

I little trickery in that this is the size of one book but says it's a publisher's pack. Since you only pay for one book doesn't really make sense why they did it.

Idle chit chat

The writer invest too much into idle chit chat and some of the conversations sound like frivolous filler.
Also lot of plot holes like I mentioned in another review. Like the cat comment. Freddie had a cat and it was mentioned then when earth started repopulating animals a CAT was mentioned and The Jayce acted like cats were this new thing no one had ever seen when Lex wanted one as a pet.

Slow down dont push books out so fast just to fill paragraphs.

You as a writer have the ability to write great stories I still enjoy the books but the further we get away from Book ONE it seems to get more watered down. Some of the comment Jayce makes to himself also seem contrived or used as just filler.
