near the end I was having a hard time continuing the intense story but made it thru to the glorious end. highly recommended.

Good series, great value

I enjoyed the whole series and was glad the harrem elements didn't overshadow the plot, even in later books. My only complaint is that too many things went beyond scientific reality or logical reason. Still a good read.

Fun story

Firstly I really enjoyed this story. It’s a fun sci-fi base building adventure well written with excellent narration. Now for the space marine in the room. The framework of this universe is very clearly warhammer 40k and I’m here for it. It’s like a fun fanfic/tribute to the universe with some interesting differences. It was fun. Plus there is a Kerrigan the queen of blades analogue which made me smile!

This is a love letter to the fans…

Do you love Warhammer or Warhammer 40k? How about Starcraft? Joan of Arc? Bad Ass Female Warriors? Femme Fatales? No nonsense mechanical types?! Well…lemme tell ya Brother or Sister. You’re in for a wild ride across the Milky Way and you’re going to meet some fun characters and not so fun ones. This is a high stakes, lots of explosions and bullets, into the sub reality of action, love making, blood and guts and cute alien flower puppies! All the French descriptions are fantastic as well. Gloire et honneur!

great book series

great series with good action & writing. Definitely worth the read/ listen. made driving for work much more manageable

gripping story

A gripping 40k esk story meets heram romance with Great voice acting for good price.

Disappointment despite a stellar performance

I do not recommend this series.

The first three books are pretty good and the narrators give an entertaining performance throughout the series. But the final books kind of just go downhill. Especially the ending. Not that the story ends 'bad', but the final arc is just such a let down. The way in that the Saints find their ultimate fate is just so dissatisfying. The author goes for a psychological roller coaster that sidelines any gratification from overcoming the antagonists.

The setup for the end of the final book is nearly identical to how the setup of the previous book's ending. I guess it was suppose to be standard operating procedure by the Saints and James plus company also just kind of follow along twice. The twist wasn't a surprise because something similar had just happened in the previous entry. The events at the end felt lazy or perhaps just rushing to finalize the series. Very dissatisfying ending to a good story or at least its premise.

only made half way through book 1

It's the Holy Roman Empire in space and done badly at that. Then add in the MC that just comes off as an unlikeable douchebag and side characters that are so one dimensional that they make no sense whatsoever. It made this book completely unlistenable.

just hit next chapter when they start describing the unnecessary sex scenes you won't miss anything
