Publisher's summary

One notorious one-percenter

One innocent trapped in an impossible situation

Onevicious crime lord

Three people who aren't who they appear to be

Equals one big (bloody) mess.

Reign is no stranger to the criminal underbelly and hard life, but when a random woman comes (literally) crashing into his life - learning things she has no business knowing, and bringing with her the weight of the city's biggest skin trader-the "hard life" starts to take on a whole new meaning.

Contains mature themes.

Worst male narration ever

I love Jessica’s books. This one was no different. Could I have done without all the bitches, slots and old lady references? Yup. But it fits the narrative and is true to the characters. What I couldn't get past was the absolute horrible male narration. Thankfully, the majority of the book is from Summer's perspective, so I was able to endure it. Summer's narrator was excellent. It would have been better if she had read the whole book. She's the only reason I didn't give the narration 1 star. I will never listen to another book narrated by this guy again. Ever.

Good Read

This was a really good read. The characters and development were overall well done. The female narrator was great! The male was fine, my only feedback was how much older he sounded, but once you get into the book, it’s pretty close to the end you realize he’s in his 40s or close to it, so having a more mature sound made sense. This one had me from the beginning, very well done. I can’t wait to read the rest.

Loved it!

I loved Reign and Summer. It was very violent and tough to take at times, but loved seeing them get to the other side. I can't wait for the next book!

Surprise, cringe and swoon

I love this series, eventhough i did not read all 20 books. The first 5 are the best.
This is a good start to the series, it kept me on my tows. Nothing too shocking, nothing too dark.
And some good old fashon swoony moments. The performances get better with each book.

GREAT STORY.. BUT WRONG CHOICE OF NARRATOR

As soon as I put this audiobook on I thought “oh no” and that feeling got worse when I heard the male narrator who, IMO, would be best suited to a 50+ yr old cop in Mysteries, a jaded older P.I. in Thrillers or a near retirement Army Sergeant over in the War genre.. anywhere but Romance. Nevertheless, the unfolding story quickly drew me in as the wickedly twisted ordeal that Summer endured before she finally got her HEA, absolutely kept me on the edge of my seat with gleeful anticipation. But sadly Reign, the President of the Henchmen MC, should’ve conjured up images of a drool-worthy brutish badass biker.. however, the much older voice didn’t at all fit this sexy alpha hero, so I didn’t swoon, drool or have deliciously wicked mental images to go with the action in this dual POV storyline.

However, it’s a real testament to Jessica Gadziala’s writing ability that I actually overlooked the grossly unsuitable narration and enjoyed the story despite it because the journey was just so gripping, thrilling, chilling, suspenseful, sexy, tense and it had plenty of twists and turns too. There’s sizzling chemistry, passion, dangerous puppet masters with evil henchmen, good villains, rough sex, character growth and a great introduction to the mixed personalities of the alpha members of the MC.

Worth a credit? Well, it definitely takes a lot of skill to bring me back from the verge of rating it a 1 star “narration ruined everything and I’ll be asking for my credit back” review to a worthy 4 star rating.. but Jessica Gadziala managed the impossible.. so yes, for me, it’s creditworthy. The voice choice is ALL important when it comes to narration (especially sexy possessive alpha males) and the good ones are the conduits that make your panties melt .. and this would’ve been an easy 10 star audiobook with the right narration.. so please check both voices out first and decided for yourselves. Plea to whoever’s in charge of choosing narrator: NEXT TIME PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE USE A DIFFERENT NARRATOR.

Disappointing Narration

Love Jessica Gadziala books. In fact, Reign is the first of hers I ever read. That being said, the female lead, the male lead, his brother, and most of the other MC characters are from New Jersey, but neither of the narrators bothered to give any of characters the very distinctive accent from there. The male lead's voice was described as gravely/grabbed with glass, but the male narrator sounded nothing like that. At any point. The female narrator's voice just isn't my cup of tea. I've heard many other female narrators that are a lot better and, in my opinion, would have suited a lot better.
