Publisher's summary

Rescued as a child by her grandpa, the powerful Vampire Malachi, Emma has been on the run for nearly 40 years from a Vamp determined to see them both dead. When he enlists the aid of assassins from the Vampire Council, their luck runs out. Forced to separate, Malachi sends Emma to a trusted VampLycan for protection.

Redson knows trouble when he sees it, and sure enough, the gorgeous, mostly human female seeking shelter immediately disrupts his future plans. His father swore a blood oath to her grandfather, and Red is honor bound to protect her. He’s surprised when his instincts demand so much more - protect...claim...mate.

Their attraction is explosive, but Emma refuses to consider mating while her grandfather is in danger. She needs Red’s help...but is he Malachi’s savior? Or his biggest threat yet?

Spitfire

I have thoroughly enjoyed this book, heck I have enjoyed this whole series.
Yum alpha type males who only want to find and protect their mates, where do I sign up!
I loved Emma spirit she is a spitfire! Having grown up with a vampire for a grandfather ( who looks like her brother, kinda creepy if you ask me ) she hasn’t had a normal upbringing. They have been on the run for a long time so when the Vampire assassins come for them again and they were not prepared Emma had to run to Redson’s clan. ( She acted like it as an everyday thing, I would have peed my pants! )

Redson is duty bound to shelter Emma because of a blood oath his father had with her grandfather. ( No way in getting out of an oath like that, kinda glad I am just a plain ol' human ;) ) Redson isn’t happy about it but he would do whatever the blood oath said. What neither one of them expected was to fall for each other but when you know you know. ( Who wouldn't want to fall for a hunk like Redson.. just saying! )

Emma doesn’t back down at all and she isn’t willing to just let her grandfather ( why would she, he is more like a father to her )go so it is either you help or you get left behind. I loved this about her. What I liked best about Redson was how much he wanted to protect her but he had to learn that just because she is his doesn’t mean he gets to tell her what to do.

This book has all the heartfelt stuff I love and the action I crave. I have wanted to listen to this one since it came out but I have been saving it for my reading challenge. I NEED more books by this author. I cannot get enough of her writing. ( seriously if you haven't read a Larurann book what are you waiting for? ) Or the narration Savannah Richards is perfect and her male voice ( I swear it was duel narration! ) YES YES Please never change.

Someone didn't pay attention

The story was awesome like the whole series, it some of the character voices are wrong. for example: Drantos, Kraven, and Mandy are different. Did anyone notice?

loved It

I've listened to the story twice and I have enjoyed it both times. it is hard for me to find books that keep my attention and I have read all of this series, Some of the characters I like some I don't that is what makes these books so great that you can get into it and feel how these characters are feeling what is so great. so if you're into the supernatural and a different kind of Supernatural then this is the series for you. the whole series is wonderful it's a lot of action, lovemaking and Intrigue, with alot of Twist, spins and surprises

It just keeps getting better

I just finished this audiobook and am planning to listen to it again as soon as I submit this review. As with most of LD's book the MC's were very likeable and the H was amazing! So far this whole series has been awesome, and this book is no exception. (I didn't read Battina's book, I think I will despise her, but the rest was really good). I hope Malachi gets a second chance at love and his own book - hint, hint.

Great Story, loved it!

This was book 10 out of the 10-book series. I am actually hoping that Laurann writes more books in this series to highlight some of the other characters. I have to say, this series has become one of my favorite shifter series, and believe me, I listen to quite a bit!

I read each book 1 thru 10 in order and I have to say, each story was so creative and different and I really did love them all. I can't actually say I had a favorite, but if I had to pick I would pick Drantos and/or Kraven due to more listening time. Book one started with 13 hours of listening time, and book two dropped down to 12 hours and it just kept going down from there with book 10 only having 6 hours of listening time! I mean C-mon, Laurann!

Savannah Richards continues to be one of my favorite narrators and she does an absolute STELLAR job giving every character a voice that totally fits their demeanor and personality.

Redson (Red) and Emma story was adorable, I just loved it! However, it needed to be longer as I felt once again Laurann just rushed through the ending without giving us updates on any of the other characters in the story.

I also have to say, the two hero's in this series was Aveoth and Veldor, I absolutely fell in love with these two men/shifter and I hope to hear more about them in future books of Laurann's.

In conclusion, this is a series that is worth investing in, you will not be sorry! I come to love Laurann's writing and will be listening to more of her books.

Good addition to series

This was a good addition to the series. I feel the series is getting a little repetitive. Emma is another strong female mate for the vamp-lycan Redson. The mostly human granddaughter raised by a vampire was interesting and well written. This relationship advanced the vampire council issue a little. And hearing from characters from the first two books was nice. Good narrator too.

Redson

It was nice to have new and old characters brought back into the story. I’d love to hear more about Veldor
