But when Dayton's life becomes intertwined with a dangerous stranger, she suddenly finds herself at the center of a war fought since the beginning of time.

Terrible narrator

I actually really liked the story, once it got going. It was just so hard to get over this narrator's voice. If I wanted to listen to (what sounds like) a 15 year old read a book out loud I would go to a local high school and sit in an English class. That is how bad this narrator was. Her voices for other characters, especially the male ones, weren't at all different. There was not any acting here to make it worth the cost of an audible book. There are audible books I listen to over and over again because the narrator is so good and acts things out to really get you enthralled. This was like nails on a chalk board. The actually story seems great but I would buy the next book rather than listen to it.

Terrible Narrator!!!

I am unable to provide an objective review of the book itself as the narrator made it impossible for me to get beyond the first chapter. Enduring this monotonous voice of a 14-year old girl was simply unbearable. If this was intended as a grade 8 speed reading test, she would have passed with flying colours. What a disappointment. PLEASE don't use her again.

It grows on you

It started real slow and confusing that i was watching a movie while listening to it, it means i got bored. It got interesting towards the end, The main character is amazing it's just how the story unravel that's too slow. But in the end it came good so i will get the next one because its a cliffhanger which is expected of a series.
