Editorial reviews

Redeeming Zorus is an intoxicatingly erotic futuristic fantasy tale, cyborgs and humans are enemies who don’t play well with each other. Until Charlie meets Zorus, that is.

Charlie, a brave and brash and very sexy woman, is sent on a death-defying prison breaking mission to rescue Zorus, a brave and brash and very sexy cyborg. The highly unlikely pair don’t get along at all. But they find they complement each other extremely well in….other areas.

Narrated with steamy, sensual overtones by Mindy Kennedy, this sexy and titillating sci-fi story will surely keep you on the edge of your bed.

Publisher's summary

Charlie's brother has put her in the no-win situation of having to rescue a cyborg from Earth Government. It's dangerous, she'll become an outlaw on Earth, but it's the only way to save her brother's life. The imprisoned cyborg is rude, conceited, and probably the biggest jerk she's ever had the misfortune to meet. His only redeeming qualities are his handsome face and sexy, muscular body. Just wow! Still, she can't wait to be rid of him

All cyborgs hate humans, but Zorus is consumed by it. Chained, enslaved, and facing death on Earth once again, he vows revenge. To his utter astonishment, a human female comes to his rescue. She's rude, mouthy, and bossy. And very brave. She baffles him almost as much as she arouses him. Zorus cannot deny that he’s fascinated by her. They are about to lock wills and ignite a firestorm of desire that defies every rule he lives by.

Love this series

I hope laurann keeps writing more for this series but then I feel the same way about the new species. There is an innocence about the male characters. Even though the cyborgs are on the brutal side but when they love they do so wholeheartedly that it is deeply touching.

When the bad guy finally finds a heart.

In the first books I hated Zorus, I wanted so badly for his life pod to malfunction and leave his carcus floating in deep space for life... then they go and have him meat Charlie and she systematically melts his stone cold heart. WARNING, this book does have a huge trigger (a violent near rape by the son). If you have triggers fast forward past it. This was my favorite in the series until Deviant came out, now its down to number 2,
Worth a credit! Absolutely!

This is one of the best in the series!

Redeeming Zorus was one of my favs of this series! I seriously enjoyed Zorus' story, and quite honestly I'm shocked that I enjoyed it. He was such a jerk in all the preceding stories, I didn't even think I'd be interested, but all the reviews were so positive, and it definitely lived up to the rave reviews for sure. This story was mainly about Zorus finding himself in a precarious situation, saved by a human, and then recognizing the similarities between himself and humans, thus swiftly knocking him off his high horse and allowing love and emotions take over. Not to mention the sex scenes were pretty steamy--I loved it!

The Cyborg stories are relatively short, funny, sometimes action packed, erotic, and always a joy to listen to. Definitely a buy, credit, or sale worthy.

Zestful of rights undermining supremacy

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: 😠😚😁😍
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Solo Narration

The heroine: Charlie - she grew up in a poor neighborhood and lifted herself out, she is now working as a computer programmer for the government. Her older brother is always getting into trouble, and she always has to get him out of it. This time it is a gambling debt he owes and to get him out of it she has to break out a high value cyborg that is being held by the government.

The Hero: Zorus - he has featured in many of the previous books because he is on the cyborg council and is known for being a jerk. He hates all humans, and most cyborgs hate humans because they were created by humans, used by humans and nearly put to death by humans. However, Zorus hates them more than anyone, he hates and distrusts all humans even those that have helped the cyborgs, even human females that married cyborgs. He is the council member responsible for the law that says that humans on their home world are property and are basically slaves. Though in the last book, Zorus was sold to humans and is now back on Earth, being tortured by humans, so he has every reason to keep hating them.

The story: Charlie breaks Zorus out of the facility where she works and where he is being held. He doesn’t disguise his hatred of humans despite the fact that she is the only one around that is helping him escape. They bicker and fight the whole time, amid the danger and suspense of sneaking out. Charlie plans on leaving with her brother to Saturn after getting away and getting paid in order to start a new life.

Charlie’s brother double crosses her at the last moment and takes all the money for himself and sells her to her married ex-boyfriend who plans to keep her as a mistress on the moon. She will be a captive and not allowed to leave. Luckily, Zorus turns around and pays much more money for her than the wealthy ex-boyfriend. I liked how Zorus started to see a different side of humans through Charlie and when he found himself getting attracted to her, it was a great vindication after how he acted in the last few books.

This book was told in dual points of view via solo narration and was narrated by Mindy Kennedy. I find that I am liking her narration more and more as the series goes on. She has a great voice and has been getting better at having different voice inflections or accents for different characters. Also, I have been binging this series one after another and have not yet gotten sick of her voice.

Zorus Redeemed by lovable Charlie !

Any additional comments?

Laurann Dohner has done it again! She's penned another stunning novel in her Cyborg Seduction series. They just keep getting better and better. With each book, the cyborgs in this series grow more humane and compassionate as they begin to learn all about love, trust, and compromise and that not all humans are despicable. After book five. which is closely tied to Redeeming Zorus and therefore should be read before it, I was dying to find out how in the world Ms. Dohner was going to pull off Zorus's redemption, much less make him fall in love with a human female. However, she accomplished the remarkable feat with her usual flair for dramatic and emotionally driven prose.

Overall, Redeeming Zorus is a story of redemption through the power of love for a woman who can be equally as strong as her man without losing all that makes her a woman. I highly recommend this entire series to readers of Sci-Fi romance looking for men who are a bit more mechanical than human and the women who bring out their humanity.
I'm looking forward to what will happen in the next book in regards to the continuing seeds of treachery sown in this book by the Markus Model cyborgs. Krell's and Sky's stories are coming up next. I can't wait!

Love this whole series!

This was a great audiobook, in that it centers on the cyborg everybody loves to hate- Zorus! In the story, Zorus has been captured by Earth Government again and the council is paying for his rescue, supposedly by a guy who took the job. What really happens is that the hired rescuer makes his sister do the job, while at the same time double-crossing her by planning to take all the money. Zorus is captivated by the girl and ends up rescuing her! Very good story with HEA

5 Redeeming Zorus Stars

What a fitting title to this book, you don’t really know what to expect because in Ice’s book Zorus is a flaming..butt head.. to put it nicely.
But we find out why he is the way he is, now this doesn't excuse his earlier actions but it explains a whole lot. You know that saying you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but you really can if you teach them love and kindness.

Charlie shows Zorus that not all humans are out to get him or his people. That maybe just maybe some humans have the capacity to love and be trusted.

Charlie had a job, and it was to get Zorus to safety and that’s exactly what she did. No matter the harm she was putting herself through she did her job and she does it well. Even if she didn't like Zorus or his pompous attitude, she did the job she was paid to do. I loved that even though she did her job she didn't put up with any grief. Nope not in her job description!

I again really enjoyed Mindy’s narration of this book how she just makes every character their own.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Zorus Redeemed

Zorus, You Evil Sadistic Cyborg!!! I have HATED You for SOOO LONG.

Zorus is a member of the Ruling Council that governs cyborgs. His orders are law and must be obeyed. But Zorus is a sick cyborg. He hates humans with a passion, and has been an evil terror to all cyborg males that have attempted to take a human female as a mate. He has gone as far as ordering them to be killed under the pretense that they were Earth Government spies searching for cyborgs.

Zorus had been used as a pleasure slave for females and males before escaping Earth Government years ago. He is still tormented by their abuse and holds hate towards all humans in his heart.

But Charlie isn't like most humans. She is strong, stubborn, and determined to save him, even willing to risk her own life to do it. She amazes Zorus, and she argues with him, orders him around, and refuses to take any of his bull!!!

Leave it Laurann Dohner to create a character I can't stand, only to make me fall head over heals in love with him by the end!!! Redeeming Zorus was a wonderful love story. It was about healing, forgiving and learning to let go of hate.

Mindy Kennedy is fantastic with the delivery of all the series and did not dissapoint with this story.
