Publisher's summary

In the latest Last Vocari novel set in best-selling author Elena Lawson’s World of Thorn, cunning vampire huntress Rose takes her place at the heart of a battle that’s been waging for centuries.

After the shitstorm in the streets of Baton Rouge, one thing has become startlingly clear: I’m not safe, and as long as I’m still breathing, I may never be. I could accept that if it didn’t also jeopardize the safety of my guys.

I wish I could walk away...save them. I can’t. The bonds we’ve formed won’t be easily severed. Our lives are fused together now, for better or worse. Even unto death.

To save us all, I’ll have to break every single one of my own rules. Starting with placing my trust in the hands of the ancient vampire who’s been holding me captive for weeks.

It’s time for Azrael to face what he’s been avoiding for a thousand years: His deranged brother needs to die, and he may be the only being on this earth able to kill him.

Together, the five of us will concoct a plan to end his dark crusade. But I can’t decide if it’s pure genius or the downright stupidest idea I’ve ever heard. Either way, it has to work. If it doesn’t, it will be the undoing of us all.

Buy the third book in Elena Lawson's Last Vocari series! Immerse yourself in a world of steamy supernatural romance, riveting adventure, and shocking twists and turns that'll keep you listening on until long past your bedtime.

Wow Book 3 did not hold back! Loved it ❤️

Favorite audiobook of Elena's so far!! I couldn't get enough of this book and looked when book 4 was going to release and nearly cried haha. I did not want this book to end. I loved how kickbutt Rose is. I mean, she literally put herself through so much and yeah not going to spoil it for you. Just know I really jumped on the Rose train after this book. I cannot wait for Raphael to get what is coming to him. Aaaaaaand what I wanted happened with Rose and one of her harem members!! I am excited to see more, sooo excited!! And I loved the progression with Rose's blood and what it can do for vampires. I totally didnt get teary-eyed with Azrael and his super vulnerable moment.

The narration was spot on, it gets better and better with each book. I though Addison did a fabulous job with all the new characters we got to meet, especially those under Raphael's control. I think the way she created the big suspenseful and painful scene with Rose and Ethan, I totally could imagine the scene in my head. That is a sign of a great narrator and audiobook.

Highly recommend this series, this fall cannot come soon enough!! Do yourself a favor and pick up this series ❤️❤️❤️

Rose has herself in quite the predicament in this installment!

Love it when a series is narrated by the same narrator. She did a wonderful job with this one as well, although I did have one pet-peeve about the intonation of a certain word but that’s just personal preference and didn’t get in the way of following along so won’t take any stars off for that one minor thing.

After the end of book 2, Rose is captured and well, she’ll soon learn how different the twin brothers really are.
It is a strange thing, to be a prisoner in a place where there are no real locks. Compelling the victims not to escape means they physically can’t escape. Headaches, nosebloods and more literally prevent the compelled to cross a certain invisible border. Which of course, adds to the frustration and fury Rose feels toward her situation and her captor.
Although she could never have guessed just how sick and twisted her captor really is. And what his plan for her turns out to be. Sickening indeed!

With Rose captured behind enemy lines, her boys don’t come into play much, which, in itself is a good thing because at least her boys can’t be used as leverage. But innocent women enough that can fill the spot of leverage and for a girl with a conscience, that is enough to have to give up on some things and possibly be broken down completely. So in this installment she has her thoughest challenge yet. It’s clear what needs to be done. Break the compulsion somehow, free the other captives, escape the oldest vampire alive with god only knows how many other vampires he has in the vicinity, all before her captor wants to set his final plan in motion.

Will she succeed without getting broken in the process?
And will she be reunited with her boys again?
One thing is clear: this story is far from over!

Vampire war!

The narration continues to improve throughout the series! I enjoyed listening to this narration while working. It was smooth and effortless keeping the perfect flow.

The storyline progressed beautifully. We learn more about Azrael and Rafe. I wanted Rose to develop her skills much faster than what occurred in this book but the growth was organic. Rose end up enduring trauma during this book and we end not really knowing how she will process it. I can’t wait for the next book and to truly find out who has betrayed Rose, Azrael, and her men and who is playing the long game. I would also loooovveee some more steam with Azrael. I’m greedy and Rose should have them all!
