I play guitar.
I create music.
It’s all I ever wanted to do.

But I’m in a rut.
I’ve lived under the shadow of my past for so long I can’t see a future.

And suddenly, all I can hear are riffs, melodies, and beats.

She’s my muse - my inspiration.
She’s exactly what I need to get me back into the groove.

But will she accept my invitation?

FULL O’ FEELS.. bleeding, bold & beautiful ones

Oh Samantha you got me good with this one. So so many feels.. both good and bad as a Rockstar on the rise reveals his boyhood truths and tragedies and finally finds someone to trust, let in and lights the way to forgiveness and love. Liam is a Melody Writer and Guitarist in Reckless Alibi and they’re on the threshold of making it big. However, Liam’s life is imploding with grief, guilt and disgust in himself over dark childhood memories which haunt him and stops him from having relationships because he doesn’t like to be touched. And now the melodies are gone too. His walls are high, his expectations low and he drowns his emotions in drink and dirty hookups.. until the stunning Ella catches his eye then literally falls in his path.. and suddenly the 🎵🎶notes flow. Ella is a successful children’s book Illustrator, she’s just come out of a relationship where her ex cheated on her so she definitely isn’t interested in starting anything with anybody.. but Liam makes her a very tempting, and timely, offer she can’t refuse. And on a whirlwind Tour Bus trip a slow-building friends-to-lovers relationship blossoms where Ella’s patience, understanding and empathetic nature will slowly change Liam’s world.. and her soft loving touch will heal his heart and free his soul. This was a delicious slow-burn because the build to their relationship was perfectly paced and not at all insta. But spoiler alert, as Liam slowly revealed his truths, it was devastating and heartbreaking to hear about his boyhood broken trust, his child abuse and loss of innocence and the heartbreaking loss of his family. However, his inner strength, character growth and Ella’s unwaivering love forge a bright future and a HEA for him. Angst and drama from other sources fuel friction and give this story an added layer of suspense to go with the emotional unpacking. Alongside the traumatic tentative touches.. the hurdles and stepping stones to get to the beauty of imposed boundaries being broken.. and sensual, soulful love. Erin and Jason (sigh.. love you Jason) both did an awesome job bringing the characters, their back stories, their present and past emotional difficulties and dilemmas and their character groans and growths to life.. as well as the cast of secondary characters too. WORTH A CREDIT? yes.. an enjoyable and emotional rollercoaster as a hunger for a connection leads to a Muse.. Magic.. and love.

THIS story shocked me!

OMGosh! This story! These characters! I loved it all! This is so much more then another “rock n roll” band story. Each of these band mates have quite the wonderful or tragic story. I love the lighter moments like when he calls her “Mrs Campbell”. Or any time the band is together.

The two main characters in here are outstanding. She unknowingly becomes his muse and that changes her life. He has a tragic past who feels she can only be his friend and muse. At time he makes me want to cry for him. He has done amazing things. I am in awe of people who can put chords and/or words down. They have some talent.

I can’t wait to dig deeper into these guys. After that ending?! I want more now!

I did listen to this dream on audio. Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon are the narrators. They do a wonderful job portraying these characters.

Liam and Ella = swoon!

Wow, I really loved Reckless Obsession and wondered how Samantha Christy could top Crew and Bria's story. She did it and so much more! I loved everything about Liam and Ella's story. These two were simply made for each other, and the more time they spent together, the more in love they fell.

Liam has some incredible baggage to overcome in this book. I'm so glad he had Ella to help him and love him for the amazing guy he is. Samantha Christy has a way of writing stories that completely rip your heart out, and then put it back together. I loved how Liam and Ella start out as friends, and then of course that friendship grows into something so much more, however there are plenty of challenges along the way.

Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke are so, so amazing in this book. These two give their all with such a passionate and emotional performances. Ella is such an understanding and loving character, and Erin of course gives us all these details in her performance. Which in turn helps us love Ella's character even more. Jason Clarke is simply perfect again as Liam, giving us plenty of raw emotion and his signature growl in his performance.

Overall, I loved this audio and story. Samantha Christy has written another sweet, steamy, and emotional rockstar romance. How can you not love Reckless Alibi at this point! Let's get reckless!

Heartbreakingly good!

The first book in this series gave us a small glimpse of Liam but this book really dives into his past and the secrets he keeps. While his band is finally hitting it big and it seems like he’s living the rock and roll dream, Liam can’t let go of his childhood drama and it’s starting to bleed into his future. The book is truly about a tortured soul and the.woman that can help settle his demons.

Powerful but sometimes hard to listen

This is a typical Samantha Christy where one or both of the main characters are needing to heal from major trauma, abuse, or loss in their past. This story follows Liam, a member of the band Reckless Alibi from Christy’s book Reckless Obsession, and Emma, a sweet girl-next-door who has recently left her cheating boyfriend. Liam has a secret in his past that makes him think he is unworthy and unable to fall in love. There is an HEA but it is only achieved after breaking through some near impenetrable emotional walls that Liam has built. Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon masterfully performed this difficult and emotional story of shame, healing, and finding love when it looked impossible. ***** Trigger warning and spoiler-there is child sexual molestation and suicide described in some detail.

Loved it 🥰

Just like with Crew, Liams backstory was just as tragic. But, I was better prepared this time around... Now I can’t wait for Reunion and get Garrett’s story.. I love the fact that Jason and Erin will be narrating that one as well and hopefully we will get sexy Jason singing some more....

Amazing Read/Listen

As with all Samantha Christy’s books, this one was amazing! The abuse that Liam endured was horrendous but so glad it wasn’t terribly descriptive. None the less, those parts were hard to get through.

I fell hard and fast for both Liam and Ella. Their love for one another is as strong as the mighty oak and they with withstand everything that is thrown at them together.

And Ronni can go suck a d$$k. That woman! I am so overly excited for Garrett’s book. January needs to hurry up!

A fantastic book and outstanding performance by Jason and Erin.

Another outstanding performance by Jason and Erin.

Second book in the series and it’s just gets better the audio certainly did it justice. What a read this was. Samantha sure did good with this one.

This has such a hard hitting subject to overcome, any kind of abuse is hard to read, but this was truly the kind of nightmares.

I felt Liam’s pain throughout. This one hits deep, certainly takes us on an emotional rollercoaster, ensuring we get all the feels.

Ella is a fantastic, she has so much patience and understanding. Another strong female character.

Great to catch up with Bria and Crew and seeing where they are heading.

As always, good to catch up with old faces, getting not one, but two, of our Stone Brothers, what more could we want.

Can’t wait for Garrets book now, Samantha left us plenty crumbs in this one to intrigue us. ❤️

An audiobook you don’t want to miss

Wow. Just wow. This book was emotionally intense, and beautiful at the same time. It’s really the story of how Ella’s love heals Liam’s broken mind and soul. And how Ella’s life changes after she meets Liam, when she becomes the muse of a musician on his path to stardom.

Several chapters were difficult to read, because they were touching upon a tough subject and weren’t exactly explicit but still quite detailed. They were heartbreaking and helped building Liam’s character and identifying his trauma and boundaries. Of course, with such a background, the book is a slow burn. That also means that, once they take the plunge, it’s scorching hot–but also very emotional.

The villains–yes, there are several–are quite villainy. All the band’s members as well as Ella will suffer because of them, one way or another. There’s not a dull moment in the book. Every time you think everything is sorted out, a new problem arise, making the characters–and their relationship–stronger.

I can’t say enough how the narration is perfect. Jason Clarke delivers another outstanding performance, and Erin Mallon is her usual amazing self. An audiobook you don’t want to miss. Box of tissues not included.

So much emotion

Wow, Samantha has written a masterpiece right here. The level of emotion and heartbreak is brutal but necessary. The heartfelt performance from both Erin and Jason is astounding, these two narrators are perfect together. I can’t recommend this book enough.

nicely written

this was a dark topic and not just a rockband story. Ms Christy handled it was gentle finesse.
I've read deeper and darker topics....the book CAKE by J Bengtsson was gut wrenching and delved further.. awesome book.
but I love this series and hoping for more......great narration, missed the tunes of Erin and Jason, but hey, this was a melody topic not words.
Ronnie is still a beeatch as is dirk but all good as Ms Christy makes sure it is
