Publisher's summary

Life is complicated along the Hadrian Line. Decisions made on the border will decide the fate of the entire Human Sector.

Nora is adjusting to her new role as a player in the games of the powerful. She's gained some interesting enemies and some even more dubious allies. She has also been presented with a unique opportunity, courtesy of Jonah. The question is, who can she trust to explore it with her?

Independent action is a necessity for the sole Royal Capitoline Navy captain patrolling the border region. But Liam will have to defend his actions later in front of the Admiralty board. How can he best serve his realm? By a rigid definition of duty and defense of the status quo, or is there a greater cause, one worth his career and his very life?

Mostly a good book

Overall it's a good book and nice continuation of the series. Only thing I would like to mention is that it seems a bit unpolished compared to book 1 and 2. The narration is solid.

Great continuation

I enjoyed the story.
Some readers found it to be “insta love” but I disagree. Nora and Liam have been circling each other for three books. It was about time they got together romantically. I liked it and can’t wait for all the secrets to be revealed.

Only gets better

This is the third book and can’t wait to start the forth. Not a dull moment in this series.

Loved the story

You have to keep up with prior books in mind but the story line is good and it is different not the same old same old.

Excellent sci-fi

Great characters. Well written and I loved the characters and emotionally intelligent main character navigating treacherous traps while still keeping her heart expanding.

Great Story

Interesting story and characters. Good sci-fi. Plot well developed. Reader does a great job conveying the story along with the voices needed.

Loved this addition to the series!

I am a recent Jenny Schwartz fan and this book/audio does not disappoint! I am so glad book 4 in the series is available on Audible so I can binge listen books 3 & 4. With book 5 in the series coming out in mid-July, I should hopefully have my “The Adventures of a Xeno-Archaeologist” series binge fix taken care of by then. Though I would be happy to listen to more books in the series if they came available😉. Emily Woo Zeller as always is amazing.

Weird insta love and lost the plot.

I really tried to give this series a shot. I normally would love the elements of this story. The plot didn’t work. Characters started to make odd choices from what they’ve told us.

more unimpressive cliffhangers...

the book fades to black....half a book that could easily have been wrapped up. no one likes a useless cliffhanger.
