Blonde Truly couldn't keep her kiss-ban against that cowboy Dave - not even when sultry Garnet ran engaging interference. She thought Dave's kisses delightfully habit-forming - and so did his sultry fiancee. One of the most popular settings for romance stories was the old west, where men were men and women were women. As many a swooning damsel could attest, "There's something about a cowboy."

One of the most popular settings for romance stories was the Old West, where men were men and women were women. As many a swooning damsel could attest, "There's something about a cowboy." The Western romance became one of the most popular types of magazines sold during the early and mid-20th century. By today's standards, these stories may be considered sweet and wholesome, but there's still a thrill to them, the excitement of action and love waiting along the next trail.

Story
In the supernatural halls of power in the old, dusty forgotten substructures and mansions of Philadelphia there came a whisper one day. The whisper told of an artifact that could control the dead, be they vampire or spirit-kind. The two pillars of power, the vampiric House of Brittingham, and the self-proclaimed defenders of humanity, the Penumbra Brotherhood, acted with an immediacy almost unheard of for either faction.

One of the most successful pulp magazines ever envisioned was Ranch Romances. Combining Wild West settings with the eternal struggle to snag a mate, it ran from the 1920s clear to the '70s. Naturally, other publishers jumped on the wagon train. Popular Publications did so in 1935 with Rangeland Romances.

Story
The truth isn't stranger than fiction. Truth is fiction! For your whole life, secrets have been kept from you. Science and history books have gotten it wrong. They tell only part of the story. Maybe someday these books will be rewritten, but only if Diogenes Ra's secret gets out. If you only knew what Diogenes Ra knew. He knows something the rest of us don't. Fiction is real. All your favorite characters exist, their stories overlapping in one grand, timeless narrative. Diogenes Ra can access that narrative.

Publisher's Summary
David Dunbarton needed a change. Following the unexpected success of his first novel and subsequent destruction of his marriage, David wanted somewhere nice and quiet to settle down. He wanted to surround himself with art, not people, and just maybe get to work on his next book.
But nothing is quite what it seems on Unaka Mountain. The abandoned hotels and homes of Ravencroft Springs decay in silent dignity. However, when Dunbarton relocates in hopes of breathing life into the town and himself, the mystery draws him in, leading him down mist laden streets where he finds arcane mysteries and bizarre townsfolk...leading him ever closer to the Secret of Unaka.
Pro Se Productions presents Ravencroft Springs by Logan L. Masterson. A lovecraftian tale of suspense set in the ancient Appalachian Mountains of East Tennessee, Ravencroft Springs is also a tale of desperate love and unrequited fate, both monstrous and moving all at once.

Interesting little horror tale.
The setting was one of the most unsettling I can remember... The writing was a little uneven. The story kept me guessing, and I was appropriately effected by the outcome. The narration was excellent, but I wasn't sure how old the main character was supposed to be, and the narrator's voice gave him a more youthful sound than I thought was intended by the author. Not the best...but no waste of time!
