Another awesome book

Great book. The narrator has a deep gravelly voice which is great for the cowboys but a bit hard to make the female characters believable.

Quick, engaging, and outstanding!

One thing I can say about these two books is that you will not know the ending until the very end. That was so damn good! The narrator has such a deep old west voice such a good choice by the author. These books are paranormals blended into the real world. The challenges faced are ones you hear about everyday bit sad to know that but it is the truth. These books are quick, engaging, and outstanding really there are no words to describe how great these stories were. I highly recommend you pick up the book at least but the audible version was out of this world. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

A good listen

I thought this was a good listen, didn't like it as much as other books of her but it was worth the time. Things just felt like they moved to soon, The first books ending moved to fast, I will have to admit when the end came I did have a tear in my eye, it really broke my heart before she put a smile back on my face. The second story I just could not get into at all, my mind would not wrap around it. These were enjoyable just not I will listen to again like some of her other work.

I have never listened to this narrator, he did a good job. There was one place that he repeated some wording, another place where I thought the book must have skipped the ending but it had not. The way he ended that chapter throw me off. There were a few places where I think he got the characters voices mixed up but I still knew who was talking. I did feel that he did put emotions in the story. I didn't hear any background or noise. I thought his voice was very sexy and gave true emotions. I knew what each character felt. All in all it was a good listen.

I did enjoy this, it has a few surprise, dear sweet Joe is back twisting his way into your heart.

I felt a disconnect then a connect . . .

There was a feeling that the two stories were connected by then when I listen to them both I could not find that connection between the two besides a name passing here or there. I was hurt by Zeb's (Zebediah) story and the ending. I felt lost. I wanted more. I wanted the ending to have that something extra. I was heartsick for Willa.

Now when the second story came along I was on the fence but it soon changed to on the fence and wanting to know more about Joe. I found Joe to be the most intriguing of them all. Cia and Kade at the super hot chemistry and the sizzle and burn that set the audio ablaze. There was an element of supernatural and paranormal with this read. It pulled me back in.

These two similar but different interracial romances had their own highs and lows that made it all the better.

J. Turner lent his voice to strong rich sexy males characters and brought their stories to life. He even had a pretty good feminine voice for the various female characters.

entertaining duo

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the stories keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes
What did I like? Despite both stories being relatively short, I enjoyed them both. The characters have some depth and both stories have good pace, are interesting and well written.
Book 1: Zeb & Willa's story (2.5 hours) - lots of action with drug smugglers and reunites childhood loves.
Book 2: Kade & Cia's story (3.0 hours) - paranormal elements - dead serial killer with psychic government agency hunting him down.

I enjoyed J Rodney Turner's narration and think he's done a good job narrating Rangers. Each character had a unique voice and the rhythm, inflections and intonations all worked to bring the stories to life.

steals your heart

You get two in this one to listen too. Zeb and Kade whom both will steal your heart but hey in the book world you can have more than one anyways. We hear how they find the one that rattles their cage as they say in the ole days. The narrator better than most but one of these days I guess I would like both voices separate voices when it comes to male and female.
Zeb back in Calder county once again. So you guessed it this also is a second chance gotta love em. Willa has more trouble that keeps coming at her with once he shows up the heat also starts rising up. Life happens in this with suspense that rises to the occasion but it does keep our attention to see if our man gets his day.
In the second listen Kade has his hands full with the agent sent to help him and the investigation. You could say the wind is knocked out for a minute when he sees her. Probably if you were too close sparks could be felt. They both have their own agenda but something else has them both. So you definitely get caught up in this tug of war.

Rangers

Loved it. Eventhough I have read this book it is a different experience listening to it being read. The characters come alive. Great story.

Suspenseful ride

Plots immediately jump starts and is fast paced. Intensity & chemistry are both off the charts with added the bonus of paranormal elements all help bring romance into the dangerous lives of these rangers. The narrator was choppy and sounded too breathy with the male voices but did well with the female voice.

Zeb****Very strong characters with strong emotional pulls due to their childhood history. With the odds against them romantically, the danger surrounding her intensifies. Which I think opens the door for them both to deal with their past hurts and find something neither were looking. They're both stubbornly smitten.

Kade***From the beginning this was a bit more dark then I was anticipating. Focus in this book is more dealing with the various paranormal elements then romantic. It's still very intense, suspenseful, fast paced and intriguing with strong characters who have chemistry but who are definitely not looking for love while surrounded by these strange and dangerous happens.

Good book by a great author

I quite enjoy this author and will continue to listen to and read her books. These two books are steamy and full of great characters that keep you listening.I was fully engaged while listening to each story. I liked them both equally and would recommend them to others, especially if they enjoy this genre. I look forward to listening an reading more of this author's books. The narrator had a wonderful deep voice that I could listen to for hours. It was as smooth as butter and hot. I would listen to anything he narrates.

Romantic Suspense

This two box set was full of romantic suspense. The second story was also chock-full of the paranormal, which is quite typical of Ciana Stone. It was wonderful seeing Joe (a character from other Ciana Stone books) in the second story as well. Both stories easily kept my interest throughout and were enjoyable and entertaining. J. Rodney Turner has a wonderful deep voice and did a great job with the narration. I did receive a free copy of this audiobook however have voluntarily provided an unbiased review.
