Publisher's Summary

When life gives Kuro Jenkins lemons, he wants to make ponzu to serve at his Los Angeles ramen shop.

Instead, he’s dodging bullets and wondering how the hell he ended up back in the Black Ops lifestyle he left behind him. After rescuing former child star Trey Bishop from a pair of thugs in the middle of the night, he knows it’s time to pick up his gun again. But it seems trouble isn’t done with Trey, and Kuro can’t quite let go...of either the gun or Trey Bishop.

Trey Bishop never denied his life’s downward spiral was his own fault. After a few stints in rehab, he’s finally shaken off his Hollywood bad-boy lifestyle but not his reputation. The destruction of his acting career and his relationships goes deep, and no one trusts anything he says, including the LAPD. When two men dragging a dead body spot him on a late-night run and try to murder him, Trey is grateful for the tall, dark, and deadly ramen shop owner he lusts over - not just for rescuing him, but also for believing him.

Now caught in a web of murders and lies, Trey knows someone wants him dead, and the only one on his side is a man with deep, dark secrets. Trey hopes Kuro Jenkins will stick around to see what the future holds for them once the dust settles, but from the looks of things, neither of them may survive to find out.

Another excellent story by Rhys Ford and narrating by Kale Williams

Loved the fast paced action in this story, but it's the main characters, Kuro and Trey, who make the story. Both have baggage, Kuro, a former black ops man, now owned of a Ramen shop, and Trey, child actor, whose burned more than a few personal and professional bridges. Loved that each could see past the baggage and especially that Kuro could see the goodness in The and how hard he was working to get control of his life. Kale William's narrating was wonderful as usual! I've yet to listen to anything he's narrated that I haven't loved!

So Good

I loved the book and the audio version did not disappoint. Kale Williams did a wonderful job narrating. Rhys Ford spins a fabulous tale of intrigue and relationships. One of the things I love about her books is the low angst factor. The storyline is perfect with twists and turns that keep one guessing until the end. I hope this isn’t the last we hear from Kuro and Tre.

Excellent Listen

Rhys Ford is a true wordsmith, her grasp of the English language and the subtle ways of twisting it around are masterful. Join that with Kale Williams' great portrayal of the characters and that's what makes this a 5 star read and listen. I read the book before I listened to it because I love Ford's writing, but Kale William's narration truly brought an already great story into another dimension. Truly worth your time and a credit.

EXCELLENT. GOOD START TO A NEW SERIES

Most enjoyable. As always Rhys Ford does not disappoint. Kale Williams is a marvellous voice actor. His voices for the individual characters is amazing . He brings the characters to life with his smooth and flawless performance. Kuro Jenkins and Trey Bishop make a great couple. I love the dialogue and the actions throughout the story. The mystery of who is out to kill Trey is so surprising. The villain is only revealed right near the end. Fantastic writing! I hope the next book will come out ASAP.
