Publisher's Summary

Eric's grown more confident. He has to admit that. With Marcus's love and support, he's stronger than ever, but it's not enough. His daddy's given him the ability to go after what he wants, but there's so much more that feels just out of reach. Eric doesn't want part of the lifestyle or some of the submission...he wants everything.

For Marcus, there's nothing more beautiful than watching his boy's confidence grow. Marcus loves every step Eric has taken on his journey, but he doesn't want to push his boy too far, too fast. And when the only part of Marcus's future that's clear is Eric by his side, it's not fair to his boy to rush things. A daddy should be able to provide for his boy. A looming retirement and a questionable future aren't enough. Not when he wants to give his boy everything.

When it comes to their relationship, Eric is ready to jump in headfirst. But how does Eric show his daddy that everything doesn't have to be planned out to be perfect?

Sweet story. Not a fan of the narration.

For all the taboo kink in this story, it was still very much a sweet romance with enormous care and respect between the two MC's, Eric and Marcus. They are very much in love and continue smoothly along the road to their HEA. Perhaps a bit too smoothly. There is no conflict at all between the MC's, and I do think a little tension or an emotional setback of some kind would have made this story even better. Outside of Eric's reserve and insecurities regarding the kinky aspect of their relationship, there is nothing else for these MC's to really overcome together, no real test of the strength of their love. Much of their relationship, or what we see of it, develops during steamier scenes or scenes related to the ageplay. I would have liked it if they had interacted more together in other situations as well. It would have been fun to see them actually start working together, for instance. I really liked the scene where Eric turned the tables on Marcus and took care of him, instead of it being the other way around. It added some balance to their relationship and it was lovely to see Eric growing confident enough to take that step. I had some issues with the narration. When we're listening to a chapter told from Marcus's view, the narrator doesn't use "Marcus's" voice, but keeps his timbre very close to the one he uses for Eric, instead of the deeper voice he uses for when Marcus is talking. I found that very confusing and it made it harder to connect with the characters. I also thought the voices of some of the supporting characters, other subs like Nathan & Connor for instance, were a bit too high-pitched and almost childlike, which I very much disliked.

Great follow up

The thing I love the most about MA Innes’ “taboo” books are how inherently sweet they all are. Yeah I was a little weirded out about age play but these books just make it so sweet. Kenneth Obi just keeps getting better with each book he narrates. Can’t wait for more from this duo

Quiet Strength

This is the second half of Eric & Marcus’s story. In this book we get the conclusion of their story from Silent Strength. What I love about these books is the very obvious connection and bond the two men form together. They just fit so perfectly in every part of their lives and you can tell they really and truly care a tremendous amount for each other in every action they make, no matter what the context is. They aren’t just “Daddy and Boy” but they are also friends and lovers and partners, and that stands out in every part of this book. The Author always seems to write the most Romantically Kinky books with the sweetest guys. I will never get sick of reading and listening to these books. Even when the topic is “taboo” it’s still so dang sweet. Getting these books in Audio with Kenneth Obi as the narrator is just an added bonus to reading along with the stories. He really does such a great job bringing out the emotions for each character in the way he interprets each of these books. We not only get to see the difference in Daddy/Marcus and the Boy/Eric. It’s also nice getting to hear from characters that came from some of the authors other books being included in this one as well. It makes me want to go back and re-listen to those audiobooks too. But in this book specifically I liked that the author has used the same narrator. And I really appreciated the consistently great narration we got from him for both of these books. In the first book Eric was still so timid about his thoughts and feelings and wasn’t confident in himself especially when it came to expressing his wants and needs to Marcus. Now in this book we get to see him become so much stronger in general as a person and also when it comes to being “Daddy’s Boy”. He learns how to voice his thoughts and feelings and learns to trust Daddy and trust in the relationship and bond that they have formed with each other. He realizes that Daddy/Marcus will be there for him no matter what. Marcus is the perfect mix of Daddy and Dom. And I am in love with how his character is portrayed here, how he will do anything to make sure Eric is taken care of and knows he is safe. I liked that Marcus was a cop but didn’t really care too much for what he planned to do after that part of his life/job ended and how long it took him to get to that point but it’s cool that they could both end up working together. **What I would like to know is… Where is Zander… What happened to him and will he get a book?** These books were sweet and it was a great ending to their story. I really hope to see these two added into some other books in the future.

growing closer and stronger

I enjoyed seeing Eric become more comfortable in his role/lifestyle choice as a "little" in this engaging age play story. I liked how Marcus pushed Eric's boundaries and Eric's responses to it. I loved seeing the Daddy/boy relationship grow along with the deepening of their love. This was a fantastic follow up to the first book, and I loved it.

They get their HEA

This is book 2 in the Strength Series and a continuation of Marcus and Eric's love story. I adore have the couple has grown and how Eric has thrived under Marcus's firm hand. Brilliantly written and narrated.

Sweet end to the MM Age play romance

This was a sequel to a super sweet MM age play ABDL romance. I love Marcus and Eric and hope to hear about all of the friends they have made in the same type of relationships! Fantastic narration.

Rewarding read

The sequel to Silent Strength, this was even better than the first one! Eric and Marcus’ relationship fully matures and Marcus proves to be exactly the Daddy Eric needs. Kenneth’s narration was consistent with the previous book and, again, distinctive voices so I was never lost. In fact, imho, his performance here was better than the first book! Give this one a listen. You won’t be disappointed.

Not as good as the first

After enjoying the first one i was eager to listen to the next and finish the story however i was a little disappointed in it. I felt like there was too much time spent trying to re assure us about the nature of the relationship through out this book. But it really wasn't needed. That was covered in the first book, and it was done well enough that by the time we made it to this one the constant reassurance just became redundant and annoying. I as looking for move of the development between them and their lifestyle instead of them just telling me it was ok constantly. I did enjoy what parts of that i got however a lot and i just wish i had more of it. Kenneth's narration continued to be great for these characters and I think he really captured them and brought them to life.

Not a stand alone, but a great addition

It was so good to visit with the boys again! Once again, still not my kink, but I loved watching Eric fall into his little personality wi5 much more confidence! There was some hot scenes! And I liked that some of them was just as a sub at the club, but still not making a Eric something he’s not! I really hope to see more of this couple!

Fantastic second book to the series.

I really enjoyed silent strength, the first book in this two book series and was anticipating the release of this audio. Kenneth didn’t disappoint. I love the collaboration between m.a.innes and Kenneth obi. In this book Eric and Marcus continue to develop their relationship and Eric becomes more confident in being a little. There is age play with ABDL, along with some hot sex scenes. This is a really sweet story that I have enjoyed listening to with a perfect HEA. Kenneth’s narration was spot on and brought this story to life, which is why I really like him as a narrator. Nathan and Gabriel, from flawed perfection have great parts in this story, and we get to see Eric and Nathan develop their sweet friendship, although I don’t think Eric can cope with much more chocking following Nathan questions.

A wonderful continuation of Silent Strength

Eric and Marcus are continuing to live a happy life together whilst Marcus' retirement from the police force is looming closer, This causes a bit of worry for Marcus as to how he'll provide for his boy but Eric is worrying that his Daddy is taking on too much stress when he wants things to develop further for himself and Marcus in their personal relationship. I'm loving this story and the development of the two main characters and their relationship together. M.A. Innes has a wonderful way of writing that draws you into the emotions felt by both characters and the relationship that the two have together may be different from what others expect but together they are wonderful. Written as they are made for each other! We are continually meeting people from characters from other books but if you haven't read them, it doesn't impact your enjoyment of this couple and their story. Kenneth again does a fantastic job of narrating this story. I was pulled in from the start and enjoy the book throughout whilst we are carried along on the blossoming relationship of Eric and Marcus. I especially love the differential in voice for Eric when he's as his "regular" self and for when he's his Daddy's boy. Another fantastic book from M.A. Innes and wonderfully narrated by Kenneth. Highly recommend!
