Great punk rock tales

The story about Sid Vicious and the vacuum cleaner was so great, I almost pissed myself. The book as a whole is definitely worth the listen!!!

Captures the good and the bad of a bygone era of the Punk movement in New York.

Very entertaining

A story of New York 70’s music seen through the eyes of experience. It always amazes me that the music seen was so close knit.
I really enjoyed looking up even more bands I didn’t know existed.
Well worth the listen.

Machine Gun Anecdotes

There is so much packed into this memoir. Unlike most, it doesn’t dawdle or hang out in the build up. Just fires on all cylinders reminiscing on the golden era of NYC punk.

This book is FANTASTIC!

Just got finished reading this fantastic book.
This memoir ends up being a historical account of a scene which was so important in the evolution of what was to become Punk rock. Philippe Marcade’s reminiscing over the bands he liked pre punk, is listening to someone recognizing a movement without knowing it. It was loud and raw and he loved it. He knew this is what he wanted to be a part of. He goes through life pretty optimistically, describing his friends and his relationships with them pretty positively even though they were completely strung out and in bad shape. The devils in the details as you get more from reading between the lines.
You’ll enjoy a sight seeing tour of burned out NYC (I live there, this is the truth), introductions to punk heroes and anti heroes and stories from shows with The Senders, on stage and back.
So interesting, entertaining and thought provoking.
