Story
An inn is a place to rest, a place to talk and share stories, a place to find adventure, or a starting ground for quests and legends. It is in this world, at least. To Erin Solstice, an inn seems like a medieval relic from the past. But here she is, running from Goblins and trying to survive in a world full of monsters and magic. She’d be more excited about all of this if everything wasn’t trying to kill her. But an inn is what she’s found, and so that’s what she becomes; an innkeeper, who serves drinks to heroes and monsters. Mostly monsters. But it’s a living, right?

A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Without so much as a warning, humanity in its entirety was suddenly moved to another dimension. Every person, without exception. But this new world, with all its opportunities and gifts of wondrous abilities, was a stadium. A deadly arena of an unimaginable scale. And humanity was to be its latest gladiators. Every man, woman, and child was given a weapon and ordered to fight. After dying and being reborn into a world that's built like a video game, Jim has found himself stuck in a very old-world style new-player zone for low-level adventurers. Unfortunately, the zone fell out of use centuries ago, and no one told the monsters they were supposed to take it easy on the Noobs. Even worse, the only new player around is Jim. Jim has been given an opportunity, and he'll do his best to take advantage of it.

A Great Collection!!
I love the Puatera Online series! All seven books are well worth your time. I have reviewed all seven books and here are my reviews for these three, enjoy.
Jessica's Challenge - This book was so much fun and so enjoyable to listen to! I listened to it in one sitting and got totally caught up in it! Books 1-3 were awesome, book 4 was great and this one was back to awesome! If you haven't given this series a try then you are seriously missing out! If you enjoy LitRPG then you HAVE to give the Puatera Online series a chance. You will not be disappointed. This installment is well written and the narrator really brings it to life. I didn't care much for book four's narrator and was glad to see a new narrator for this one. Suzanne Barbetta does an awesome job with the various character voices and she is quite pleasant to listen to. A truly great combination! So what are you waiting for? Get this book and then get the others so you can enjoy the entire world (so far) of Puatera Online!!
Dahlia's Shadow - I really cannot say enough about this series! It is an absolute joy to listen to. I have listened to all six books now and love them all! This is a really well written world with many different characters, adventures, dangers and mysteries! It'll suck you in and not let you go. This installment though does need for the listener to have listened or read one of the other stories in order to truly make sense, but they are worth getting! The narration was awesome up to the narrator reading Jessica's part. Suzanne Barbetta was the narrator for book five as well but she didn't keep the same voice for Jessica in both books. It made it a bit confusing at first and a little disappointing, hence the four stars instead of five. But outside of that, it is wonderfully done and I hope she'll narrate the next book (hint, hint)! This series is really great and I love that there isn't an excess in violence or sex. You won't be sorry to take chance on this series!
Lila's Revenge - I loved listening to this book! This is such a wonderful series and this book continues the awesomeness! Plenty of action and adventure! This is a wonderfully well written series that will keep you entertain for many hours. The stories can be listened to individually but I found listening to them in order helps everything to make better sense. If you enjoy LitRPG then you have to check out this book at least if not the entire series! The narration is awesome and really brings the story to life. Suzanne Barbetta is an excellent narrator who can do so many different distinct voices. She also puts the right amount of emotion into the words. This is an excellent series and I will continue to recommend it to my friends.
As you can see, I really enjoy this series and think the author created a wonderful world with great characters! I still recommend this series to my friends. Having all three in a box set is really cool. Give it a try, you just might find yourself totally entertained for many hours!

A Lite YA LitRPG
18 year old Jessica and her younger twin sisters sneak into their mom's lab to check out the new game she's been working on, Puatera Online. Without logging in properly, the game glitches and the three girls are stuck in the game, each separated from the others and searching for a way to reunite and to get out of the game.
This is books 5-7 in Puatera Online, but I read them without reading the first 4 and had no trouble following along. This is lite LitRPG, there are no stats or character creation, it's just a fantasy adventure that happens to take place in a game world. It's an easy and addictive listen geared more towards the YA crowd, it's a great way to get your teen (especially girls) hooked on the genre.
The narration was well done, with the perfect voice for the girls. It pulled me right into the story. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Fantastic Mix of Sci-fi and Fantasy
While I do enjoy sci-fi from time to time, fantasy is where my heart lies and this captured both aspects spectacularly. The characters are interesting and relatable and their experiences in this digital world are real and tangible. That said, the reason I have give the audiobook a 4 star when it comes to story is because the end of the second book left me a bit confused due to some of the interactions between characters.
Overall, it was an excellent listen and I look forward to hearing more!

Always appreciate the compiling of trilogies
It's an especially tedious thing to keep track of book 1, 2 or 3 of a trilogy with audible because there's essentially no playlist function built into the app. Did a book finish? go scroll through your ever increasing library to find the next one. Dawn Chapman is a great author that just compiles their books together as appropriate. I've originally listened to these as a single title each and enjoyed them back when i first got them. While the details are a little fuzzy to me at this point i remember greatly enjoying the story and essentially being at the edge of my seat wanting to hear more. I love Suzanne Barbetta's choice of voices for all the characters

Another interesting boxset in this series
This audiobook is another one in the series that is well suited to being a boxset rather than individual books, these stories of the three sisters are not overly long and are intrinsically linked to each other as well, they can be read as a standalone set but their stories all link back to the main series itself as well.
All three books follow a similar format with the sisters entering the game as new players, unfortunately a glitch means that unlike other players they are not able to logout of the game at all. The main thing that separates the three stories from each other are the classes and aptitudes of the sisters along with their real-life personalities and how those impact their ingame character too.
This was another strong performance by the narrator, nicely enhancing the stories and adding to the enjoyment of the book.
Overall, since these books all share the same format, they are not as distinctive as the ones in the first boxset, but are still a good listen that nicely progresses the main story too.

stop the Cliffhanging
Picks up right where the last book left off and how could it not given it left on a cliffhanger...
though it shifts the view point again...
which is a theme for this trilogy...
each book this time has a different protagonist, meaning that it feels a little rushed at times and just when you get comfortable with one protagonist, the book is done and we switch to someone else, somewhere else...
in many ways it feels like these 3 books are mostly introducing characters and setting up for the next book...
on the other hand...
I'm bloody well looking forward to the next book, so despite what I've said could be taken negatively, it's not entirely so...
my biggest gripe is I wanted more time with each character, and isn't it always like that when reading good books??
Miss Barnett's does a great job, and I feel confident that had I heard the books individually I'd have scored her higher, but 3 books with few overlapping characters would strain any VA to not fall back on the same voices...
however I'm not reviewing the individual books, but the collected trilogy...
honestly I think it's the same for the writing...
it's just a little too much content spread over too few pages...
I'll keep from mentioning butter on toast ;)
