Publisher's Summary

What would you choose: love or duty?

As the Torrian Alliance continues its age-old mission of hunting down Star Children, King Gregorio Derry reluctantly agrees to send his only son, William, to planet Earth on a mission to bring honor back to the royal family name. The target: Sydney, a young teenage girl unaware of her alien heritage.

When an unforeseen accident delays the assassination, William begins to realize he is forming a connection with Sydney, and he struggles to follow through with his orders. With the fear of civil war imminent back home, William must make the ultimate choice between his irrevocable duty and love, sacrificing everything he believes. But as a hidden menace emerges to secure a vested interest and impossible odds begin to mount against them, William and Sydney wonder if a connection between two star-crossed lovers is enough to save them from destruction.

Star crossed lovers

SPOILERS

The sound quality of this book is great, and he tells his story well but sometimes I felt that some of the emotion or inflections didn't always match the situation for me, but still a good performance on the reading.

*******

I really liked the concept of Romeo and Juliet falling in love, but rather than killing themselves he's been sent to find and murder her.

These star crossed lovers from different worlds fall in love, despite all odds, and their journey has just begun. I cannot wait to listen to book two.

I should not be writing a review of this book.

This is probably a very good YA sifi/romance book. I'm not a YA and it just held no appeal for me. The only reason I did not give it a higher rating is because it's not in one of my genres. I did read all but 1 hour of it though. Now for the obligatory: This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Definitely romance story

This story takes starts by telling the audience about a girl, the 'Starchild' and a prince who is supposed to kill her. And it only gets more exciting from there! A great listen for adults alike, and easy to follow wither you are a sci-fi fan or not. I onten struggle with sci-fi book, but this one keeps you guessing, and the is narrated in a way that's easy to follow without being boring. Definitely check this one out if you enjoy an exciting romance story!

Enjoyable and good listen

Good listen. The characterization, though, felt weak and for some reason, I wasn’t able to connect to the main leads, neither the male lead nor the female, though I did like them and cared just enough to listen the entire story. The ending was good and fitting for a book that’ll soon have a sequel, so all in all this book makes for a nice listen. thanks

This is amusing book

An exciting story and I am looking forward to listening the series. I would have rated the story a five, but felt there were some slightly disjointed transitions. Of course, this could just be due to how long it has been since I was a teenager. !!

This is essential listen

William and Sydney are Star-Crossed from the beginning of this fun listen. For my tastes the audiobook was a little mushy with a lot of flirting. Which many listener will probably enjoy. thanks

William, a prince of the Torrian Alliance, which balances on the precipice of civil war is sent to Earth to continue the eradication of the Star-children. thanks author

Protostar sci-fi

Cosby shows exactly how to do sci-fi affair with this first book of the Star-Crossed legacy series. All things considered, this is a fresh voice in science fiction, with a rather hopeful but thrilling story about love, sacrifice, and the end of the world. This is of course all wrapped up in a neat bow, until the next book.

This is attractive book

The two lovers, William and Sydney, were interesting enough to follow, even if the budding romance between them kept somewhat getting in the way of a rather thrilling story. The casual trope of two unlikely individuals falling in love is one that everyone is familiar with in romance, and here it’s done to similar effect. Overall, it was well done.

Protostar is a fanciful book

Protostar is a fanciful debut to the Star-crossed Legacy series and it will be exciting to see not only where the story will go, but where our lovers go if they can find a way to survive the odds set against them.
