Publisher's Summary

Professor Dena Montgomery might be young, only 19, but she is a mathematical Olympiad with a genius-level IQ, earning a PhD for her at 16. Yet, her large family calls her The Absentminded Professor, with good reason. Dena can recite the calculus for the Pythagorean theorem as if it is her home address, but can’t, for her life, remember what is on her grocery list or whether she eats three meals on any given day. Though she is shaped like a Barbie Doll, she’s no lightweight. Her family does not leave her defenseless, either. That skill serves her well one cold, blustery, snowy night when she leaves her office at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Walking home, she encounters the abduction of two tender-aged children. Although one man dies, Dena’s protective instincts kick in to save the little boy and girl.

Cambridge, Massachusetts, Police Lieutenant Darrius Pappas caught the case. Yet, he doesn’t know what to make of the beautiful and incredibly young woman in his interrogation room. Surveillance video footage at the murder scene shows that Doctor Montgomery went all Jessica Campbell Jones Cage on the UNSUBs to save children not much older than toddlers. Darrius, young for his police position and unusually handsome, has never seen anything like her in his home country of Greece. Since coming to America to attend college and compete in the Olympics as a champion swimmer, Darrius has had more than his fair share of women. However, something about Doctor Montgomery creates an itch he can’t seem to scratch.

The situation becomes even more complicated when a shadow enforcement entity created by the G7 takes over the case. Darrius is swept up into the FBI/CIA/Interpol task force and taken away to an undisclosed location. That’s when he learns that Doctor Montgomery is much more mysterious than he could have imagined. When a second murder involving Dena Montgomery occurs during his investigation, Lieutenant Pappas’s protective instincts kick in. He will risk everything to save Dena and the children and get to the bottom of both cases.

Good listen

I enjoyed listening to this book. Although I was disappointed that there was no resolution to Dina and Darrius story. The narration was great. I was given a free copy of this audiobook for my honest review

Family Affairs Continued

I love Chuck and Vivian Alexander Montgomery multi-cultural family (most adopted). This book is mostly about their daughter Dena who saved a couple of children and meets up with Lieutenant Darrius Pappas. It also has many characters within the families included. But I really wonder why Dena was chosen for outer space and if she and Darrius becomes an item. Look forward to next on and all the upcoming marriages and births. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. THANK YOU

An Awesome Listen

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and found it very enjoyable. These books are based on family and friends, and just like life, all emotions are shown. Dena is MIT professor and walking home one night, she hears a child's cry. The next thing she knows she has two frighten children and corpse. Now Dena and the children are in protective custody and has to deal with a family funeral and in a few months her dream will come true. Interesting characters and suspenseful, fast moving plot will keep you listen until the end. This is a very enjoyable series that just keeps getting better.

Love the story

I was given a copy to review and before I finished listening I decided I had found a new author to follow. I am trying to decide if I want to start the Wisdom of the Ancestors series first or if I want to start with An Ulterior Motive that is the 1st book in the Alex-Mont Kids Saga.

Kelley Hazen is great as always. If I am looking a two books to listen to next and she is one of the narrators I always listen to her first.

Protective instinct

I have tried with three of these books. They are so aspirational and all characters have no flaws it sets my teeth on edge.
While it us great to have people of colour in positive roles and positions it can be too fantastical and delaying an HEA in order to finish the story in the next volume is clumsily written
