Publisher's Summary

At only 10 years old, Tempest's life changed forever. She suffered unbearable loss and tragedy that she would have to live with forever. For the next 17 years, she suffered immeasurable pain and ridicule on behalf of the people that were supposed to love and protect her. Then, she met Dame.

The way he had come into her life and saved it was more heroic than any superhero in a Marvel movie. Yet, she could not wholeheartedly accept the undeniable chemistry between them. Dame was the first man to make her feel secure, beautiful, and confident. He uplifted her. He ravished her.

Yet, that was not enough to erase years of ugliness that had been on her, suffocating any possibilities of her having any kind of happily ever after. However, Dame is not a man that likes to be told no.

He was demanding in the hood, and he was dominant when it came to the people that he loved. He is not that type of man to allow a woman to walk away from him. Yet, he only has the patience to be told no so many times before he gives up.

Dame and Tempest's love journey is unconventional, to say the least. Their road to unconditional, genuine love is full of bumps and violent turns that may never lead them into the arms of one another.

Every beauty needs a beast. However, in this stand-alone urban romance by Jessica N. Watkins, he is the beauty, and she is the beast.

Good story......but

This story is very interesting, but the narration killed it. To be honest I skipped 4 chapters because I thought this would be better than not finishing the book, and i must say that I will cringe through the narration to see what happened. The story is just that good. So if you choose to get this book just focus on the story and try not to let the narration ruin it.

It's ok...

This version of Beauty and the Beast with a twist was good. I liked how the roles were reversed with an urban flare. The annoyance came with the overly drawn out stubbornness of the main characters, but besides that the story was funny, sexy, and sweet. Now the narrators.... Whew Chile!!! The male narrators female voice was a big no for me as well as the females narrators male voice was horrible. The female narrator came across robotic and slow. I had to speed up my playback. That low key made my listening experience suck. Lastly if you're gonna rely heavily on writing out song lyrics at least have the narrators listen to the song, and recite it to tempo or something. Honestly, besides all of the that it was a good story that kept my attention until the end.

Great story HORRIBLE Narrators!!!

I love Jessica Watkins’ books! The stories are always so well done and thought out! That being said, no one EVER needs to use these narrators AGAIN! They were soooo bad! Only sheer will allowed me to make in through. There were a few aspects that didn’t wrap well, but all in all really good story.

Please never use these Narrators again!!!!

I read this book and loved it. But these 2 narrators are horrible. They use no excitement and it sounds like the are in a can reading this story.
