Publisher's summary

Dark. Deadly. Vengeful. The terrifying Vandar raiders with their menacing warbirds, lethal battle axes, and slashing tails are back—and they’re on the hunt for revenge.

Life as a female fighter pilot with the Valox resistance isn't always easy, but it gets much worse when my ship dies on a solo mission. It gets even worse when I'm rescued by hulking, bare-chested aliens who are nothing like the Vandar I fought with against the empire. The Vandar horde that snatches me from my ship might wear the battle kilts and inked skin of their counterparts, but they have no intention of treating me like an ally—or releasing me.

With platinum hair and dark hearts set on dominance and retribution, the raiders who capture me are what they call Kyrie Vandar—the Lost Vandar—raiders whose ancestors were exiled from the galaxy. Now, they’ve returned to exact revenge on the Vandar who rejected them.

The horde’s warlord, Raas Ronnan, is certain that a female pilot who fought alongside the Vandar is the perfect pawn to lure them into a trap. He’s also convinced that forcing me to share his quarters and bed will provoke my cooperation. But the fearsome warlord has underestimated me and my ability to be coerced—or seduced.

I’m determined to escape, even as the Vandar brute eyes me like tempting prey. But can I slip from Ronnan’s velvet snare the more I learn about him and his adrift horde? Or will I end up becoming just as lost as the tortured Vandar warlord who stirs the depths of my soul?

Prodigal is a full-length sci-fi romance novel with a HEA and no cheating. It features steamy scenes on a raider warship, alien horde space battles, and some serious heat.

If you like dominant alien warriors, alien abduction to seduction romance, and fated mates with a happily ever after, you’ll love Prodigal, the seventh book in Tana Stone’s sci-fi romance Raider Warlords of the Vandar series.

Fantastic story and narration

Prodigal is the 7th book in the Warlords of Vandar Series. I was intrigued by the introduction of the Kyrie Vandar (the Lost Vandar). The narrator, Marcio Catalano brought Raas Ronnan of the Kyrie Vandar to life. With the timber of his voice, Marcio was able to convey the MMC arrogant, possive, fiercely loyal, and lethal warlord characteristics. Aubrey Vincent did a fantastic job with Sloane and helping the listener visualize the FMC's strong, smart and brave personality. The storyline was action packed, suspenseful, and the spicy romance was an added bonus. I highly recommend this audiobook and the whole Vandar series.

The Kyrie Vandar (the missing Vandar) have returned and want what they are owed from their ancestors who were cast out years prior. Raas Ronaan and his Majack - Ayden are looking for a way to rendezvous with The Vandar hoard that . The Vandar Raiders that just defeated the zagrath along with the resistance. This is where Vallox resistance Captain Sloane is found on her broken down ship floating in the sector that belongs to Raas Ronaan. He then takes her as prisoner or pawn to persuade the Vandar Raiders to meet with them. While being held prisoner Ronaan finds himself connecting with the human he is so set on never being with. But fate and love have other ideas for these two. (Apologies for typos or if it doesn’t make sense. I finished listening to the book at work and had to do the review on my phone)

I couldn’t put it down!

It is rare that I start a book and finish it in the same day, but that is exactly what I did with this one. And it was worth every moment spent, I’m anxious to learn more about the new Vandar and the women who steal their hearts!
A must read!!

More please!

Love the Vandar! After the last book, it was good to see how the Kyrie Vandar rejoined the horde. Hot romance and lots of action are what this book is full of. The universe created by the author keeps expanding with new characters and interaction from past characters. l love the series and all of the spinoff books and look forward to more. Especially now that the Zagrath are raising the stakes.

Enjoyable Alien Sci-Fi Romance

This is an involved Alien Romance within an interesting Sci-Fi world! The Sci-Fi space fighting and exploration was interesting and fast paced. The Alien relationships and characters were well developed and believable with interesting characterization and characteristics. I especially enjoyed the description of the Vandar spaceship! There was some graphic MF relationship descriptions, but it was inherent to the mating bonds within the story and a relatively minor portion of the action/adventure story. The narration was fabulous with absolutely perfect voicing for the character’s personalities! The narrators really added to the story coming to life!

Prodigal

I am loving this series. I love how the women are no nonsense and fight in their own way. No damsels in distress here. I'd recommend the whole series. Tana Stone is right up there with Ruby Dixon so do look into both authors.

Yay more Vandar!

We return once again to the Warlords of Vandar in the 7th installment of the series. As someone else has already given a wonderful rundown of the book let me just add my kudos to Ms Stone on an excellent book and to the narrators who did an superb job. I can’t wait for the next audiobook to come out.

Fate trumps purpose with lots of steam

I really enjoyed Ronnan and Sloane’s alien romance with a side of trying to find your purpose. Sloane is a human and a pilot for the Valox resistance. Despite being defeated, she still believes the Empire is hiding in order to rebuild. While out searching for evidence, her ship breaks down in space. Ronnan is a Raas of the Kyrie Vandar. They are the offspring of Vandar warriors who were exiled. When his horde happens upon Sloane, he captures her for leverage to bring the Vandar to him. Ronnan believes his destiny is to avenge his father and take a Vandar mate Of course fate does not always listen to the plans we have and Ronnan and Sloane have a difficult time sticking to theirs once they meet. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline as shown through sweet moments, steamy scenes, fighting, dangerous situations, alien physiology and cultures, painful pasts, drama, snark, plot twists, secrets, and laughs. I love this series.

Marcio Catalano and Aubrey Vincent did a phenomenal job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly. I really love the added dimension listening brings to a story. 4.5 stars.
