Wish I had read it earlier

being tired of werewolf stories I avoided this book until recently. I was pleasantly surprised and wish I had picked it up earlier. that being said I read this after a few other Dave Gross novels with Varian Jagarea and Radovan, and I had no issues with reading them out of order. The narrator did an awesome job of making the characters stand apart from one another.

surprisingly delightful

I picked this book purely because I just started playing pathfinder recently, and I think I have exhausted the current available selection of 20+ hour fantasy books for a single credit. my experience with tie-in novels so far has been underwhelming. they tend to be kind of corny in my mind, and not terribly well written.

this book is not that kind of tie-in novel. Gross's characters really feel alive, interesting, and fun. especially when Boehmer is narrating them (he is replaced later on, unfortunately). The story itself is mature without being over-the-top, and the mysteries are legitimately compelling. great book. i'd have enjoyed it even if i didn't know a thing about pathfinder.

Really enjoyed it

Good story, good twists. A great intro to interesting pair of protagonists. Good voice acting. Look forward to the next in the series.

Captures the game!

Really love Gross's characters... the back & forth narration of 2 different views from 2 different backgrounds is great. Heard Lord of Runes before this and enjoyed that performance a little more, but this narrator was still top notch.

One of my favorites

They style of storytelling took a bit to get acquainted with, but now I love it!
