Ten years ago, six friends went on vacation. One made it out alive... In that instant, college student Quincy Carpenter became a member of a very exclusive club - a group of survivors the press dubbed “The Final Girls”: Lisa, who lost nine sorority sisters to a college dropout's knife; Sam, who endured the Sack Man during her shift at the Nightlight Inn; and now Quincy, who ran bleeding through the woods to escape the massacre at Pine Cottage. Despite the media's attempts, the three girls have never met.

Twenty-five years ago, Maggie Holt and her parents, Ewan and Jess, moved into Baneberry Hall, a rambling Victorian estate in the Vermont woods. Three weeks later they fled in the dead of night, an ordeal Ewan later recounted in a nonfiction book called House of Horrors. His horror memoir of ghostly happenings and encounters with malevolent spirits became a worldwide phenomenon, rivaling The Amityville Horror in popularity — and skepticism.

A Very Consuming Book
Prity Girl 13 is a very very very good book. One of the best things about it is that you are left with unresolved questions. However, I feel compeled to warn you all that this is a very hard read. The book is sad. Not only Anjy's story. We don't see only Anjy's point of view. We see a little from those who are left behind- family and friends. I can give an outline of the events in the story. However, on some of them, you miss many ditales. I recommend this book to people with a strong heart who want to listen to a fabuless reading of a very good story by a very very smart author about a subject which they may not incounter on another place. I learned a lot from this book.

Liz Coley is Genius!@
If you could sum up Pretty Girl-13 in three words, what would they be?
Dark, yet Empowering is what I knew going in.
The subject matter is dark - the narrative view and subject angles utilized to go into the depths of psychology and emotions are genius. Although the targeted audience may be primarily younger, Liz Coley's writing carries substantial weight in depth. Liz's writing style, and exceptional creativity leaves me wanting very much to read her next novel. Liz is an exceptional author - I'm not sure if it is because she isexceptionally unique or that she is just plain solid in her writing (now is my mistakes in there four effect and lame humor)...
What about Nicola Barber’s performance did you like?
Nicola does a great job and was a nice fit to read this book. Great audible requires terrific narration in this narrator hits the mark.
Any additional comments?
I'm a very successful person, but I struggle with writing. I'm intimidated to write reviews and normally do not do so, However, this author has inspired me to tell others about this book.
I have listened to dozens or perhaps hundreds of books and this is in the top five for sure!

Written for the young adult reader
Have you listened to any of Nicola Barber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
probably not
Any additional comments?
Was an interesting story but I found my attention wanderting at times. I didn't see any where that it said for the young adult reader, but it was definitely written for a younger crowd. I have read nurmerous books about this subject which were much more in dept and informative, so this one was dissapointing.

Triggering
I think this book needs a trigger warning added. The description says abuse but that is very vague.
It is a good book, touching on a lot of things in a short time frame. It’s horrifying and heart wrenchingly strong. People can survive and live on with trauma.

Pretty much everything. I thought the story could have been really good, but it just felt ridiculous.

It started out ok.
