Publisher's Summary

She thought her prayers had been answered. Now she’s praying for time.

Vanessa Everly is a successful actress in Los Angeles, but she’s still traumatized by the night that ripped her world apart. Eight years ago, Vanessa and her younger sister Roxanne were attacked on the beach in their hometown in Oregon - and Roxanne was kidnapped. Devastated, Vanessa ended her relationship with handsome medical student Christian Montgomery, whose troubled brother Brody was the police’s prime suspect.

Now, Vanessa receives the news she never thought she’d hear: Roxanne is alive. Arriving back in Everly Cliffs, Vanessa is reunited with her sister - and with Christian. Roxanne can’t remember what happened that night, but someone else can.... Who’s making threatening phone calls to Vanessa, and why has Brody suddenly gone missing?

Vanessa’s torment should be over, but it’s about to get much darker....

More holes than Swiss cheese

Just no. This was juvenile writing. Unbelievable story and not in a good way. Predictable. Will not read anything else from this author, just glad it was free.

Written by a 12 year old!

I have read/ listened to more than 1900 titles and this had to be the most juvenile, stupid and poorly written book. Just don’t save your 10 hours.

can’t go on

I can’t go on. I can’t finish it. the language is so outdated, the concept of men and women’s roles. The number of times I heard grown women say daddy. I don’t even know if there is a plot I certainly cannot get to it.

Excellent choice

I could not stop listening to the reading. The book is filled with a lot of twist. I am usually able to figure out the plot but not this time. It’s a very good book.

it was okay

my biggest issue with this book was all of the different moods of the characters, seemingly within seconds of each other. one minute a character was happy and in a great mood the next they were angry or upset and then back and forth again. also many of the things that happened just seemed completely unbelievable and unrelatable. I don't think anyone would react to certain situations the way these characters did. things that should have been questioned weren't questioned things that happened just couldn't possibly happen the way the author wrote them. many times I was very frustrated because certain situations were glossed over and then never mentioned again. there are also certain aspects of the story that seemed completely unnecessary and caused the story to not flow very well. if I had paid for this I probably would have asked for a refund but as it was an audible Plus story it was just okay. To me this author seemed to be very very new at her craft and perhaps with time can get better.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Where to begin…. This is one of the best storylines I heard in awhile; but one of the worst executed stories ever. Without spoiling it for others, the most glaringly implausible pieces was the glossing over of details that would have necessitated investigation, and no mention of the investigation that would have and should have been intrinsic to the story! I could further expound, but suffice to say that whoever the editor was, I am shocked that he/she still has a job.

Cheesy - totally

The book is pure cornball, the plot is thin, but the characters are transparent. Badly drawn, poor narrative, and lots of filler. The reader sounded like one of those AI voices most of the time
Not that great

Fanciful

Started off really well and could have been an excellent story
Suddenly and casually dead bodies everywhere and they kept mounting up
I found myself laughing at the absurdity of it
A shame as the beginning was really good and it had great potential

Not great

Good story, however the dialogue was incredibly cheesy and some parts quite unbelievable. Wouldn’t read this author again

Raped child somehow painted as the evil mastermind

Quite enjoyed the storyline, cheesy as it was until the big reveal, which disgusted me. A child groomed from age 13 and raped on turning 14 turned out to be a mastermind who manipulated adults around her who were portrayed as victims. Repulsive

Could of been interesting but

The story has potential but I feel it is insufficiently edited. Superficial writing and at times, naive, depthless, unlikely character conduct. Just an example: At a point the main character instructs another one to refrain from letting the parent of a little girl know that she was abducted by a killer and her life is in danger, to avoid spoling the evening.

A bit long

It started out quite well ,but the author threw too many plot strands in. It got very silly towards the end.

Disappointing 😞

narrator was good, the story was interesting until the last few chapters, it became boring when the author decided to explain every detail of when, how and where, no need at all. won't be reading any more of her books.
