Publisher's summary

The modern dad’s guide to fast, easy, and successful potty training lessons at home, even if this is your first child.

Is your little one ready to ditch the diapers, but you feel too nervous to start potty training?

Have you tried getting your child to go potty, but all your efforts have backfired so far?

Would you like to become a toilet training pro and help your kid become more independent?

As a super dad, you’ll soon discover that the fatherhood journey moves very first.

One day you’re learning to change diapers, and the next…potty training hits home!

Transitioning from diapers to the toilet is a huge step for both the parent and the child–it is a child’s first show of independence.

You may have already been bombarded with all sorts of advice, whether online, from the in-laws, or even some friends–some good ones, and others that just don’t make sense.

What you need to keep in mind is that children are like snowflakes–each is unique.

Your child's adaptability and personality go a long way in determining how easily they’ll grasp the new concept.

However, you don’t have to walk into this uncharted territory on your own–this guide will ensure you get everything right from day one.

It will empower you to pick what works best for your child to avoid power struggles, regression, and other potty training dilemmas.

In Potty Training Like a Pro, you’ll discover:

  • How to ditch diapers in less than one week and connect with your child like never before.
  • Bite-sized chunks of advice on what to do at each step of potty training to ensure you don’t get overwhelmed.
  • Age-appropriate moves: A guide on the cognitive, psychological, and emotional signs that your child is ready for potty training.
  • A comprehensive cheat sheet to ensure you have everything you need for a confident approach to toilet training (say goodbye to quick grocery store runs!)
  • Steps to take if your fully potty-trained child regresses–all is not lost!
  • On-the-job toilet training: How to keep your little one engaged on the toilet, including success tips to help you win in the end.
  • How to potty train children with special needs, depending on their particular challenges to get your toddler out of the diaper in no time.
  • An experienced dad’s perspective: Fool-proof strategies from the author’s experience of potty training three kids.
  • How to stay calm when the power struggles get out of hand.

And so much more!

The importance attached to toilet training may leave you anxious, making the process much harder than it should be.

From the pressure of ensuring your child is off diapers by the time they get to school to learning how to be patient with them, the process can be emotionally draining for you.

However, with these tricks, tips, and tools, you’ll have everything you need to end the mess and finally get your child to go on the potty all by themselves.

Practical Advices !

Okay, so I stumbled upon this audiobook while desperately searching for help in the chaos of potty training my toddler. Let me tell you, it was a game-changer! This book breaks down the whole process in a super easy-to-follow way, especially for dads who might not be naturally inclined to this sort of thing.

The audiobook format was perfect for me because I could listen to it while doing other stuff, like driving or cooking dinner. The narrator was engaging and kept me hooked throughout. I would recommend it !

Great book for dads!

This audiobook covers all the important topics any dad (or mom) will want to know when potty-training their child. It's been a long time since I potty-trained my kids, but what Alfie says is true - my boys were harder to train than my daughter. And it's always critical to wait until your child is ready. Don't force it, even if you're feeling peer pressure to train your child early. My son was nearly 4 by the time he was potty trained. Patience and compassion is the name of the game. I highly recommend this book for all dads!!

Great book for the dudes in your llife

This book made me really appreciate something that I take for granted: potty training a small human. Can't say I ever stopped to think too hard about it! And holy sh*t (pun intented) what a trip! I have plenty of animal training experience, but a small human that you helped create, just wow. I loved listening to this book and being able to relate to my brothers and guy friends. I don't hear much from men, about their daddy role (I think it's part societal and part cultural) so a big thank you to Mr Thomas for normalizing the trials and tribulations and challenges of fatherhood with this book!

Life saver

Potty training is not easy, it can actually be difficult. That’s because children have a tough time letting go, specially the comfort of their diaper. So it’s a big transition for them even though it may not seem big to you. Therefore you want to thread lightly and do it right and this book will give you - the potty training dad - all the information to do it right. You’ll learn to know when you’re child is ready for potty training, what to do and not do, what happens if he or she regresses, and even learn how to train children with special needs.
