If there's one thing that can shake neurotic government auditor Roger Stenely out of his routine, it's murder. When he joins an investigation, mercenaries led by the planet-hopping gang leader Kobold come after him.

Forced into an uneasy truce with the gruff, gun-toting Detective Hort and his history-loving beautiful neighbor Olivia, Roger finds himself on the run and on the hunt.

Using a trusty portal briefcase, they bounce between galaxies, uncovering the true depth of Kobold's crimes and the cosmic threat he poses. Amidst the chaos, Roger must rely on his ragtag team to save the universe—or more importantly, his job.

Good Story With Certain Caveats

The story was fast moving and interesting. The main character's behavior was sometimes too stupid to be believable. The computer-generated voice that was off just often enough to draw attention away from the story. Still, I find myself hoping for a sequel with some needed adjustments.

AI cannot do the job

I enjoyed the story, however the AI narrator is stopping me from finishing the book. the voice wobbles, the off pronunciation and lifeless narrating all ruined the book. please don't do this. hire real people to read.
