Publisher's summary

Welcome to Planet Hero! Attention civilians! In the event of superhero on villain battling, seek immediate shelter. And if a villain decides to kidnap you, hold you hostage, or attempts to rob and/or kill you, please remain calm, heroes will arrive shortly. Thank you for your support!

Dr. Davis Malory never planned to become a hero or a villain. He never planned on obtaining superpowers. He certainly never planned on being transported to a world filled with such people. And he most definitely never considered that he would have to become one if he ever wanted to find a way back to Earth.

But Planet Hero doesn't care about what Davis wants. If he wants to survive everything that is about to be thrown at him, he'll have to cultivate his superpowers and learn to navigate this new world or going home will be the least of his worries. Davis' days as a civilian are officially over.

Book was alot of fun

The main character has some Mary Sue characteristics, which was the only downside for me. Other than that its alot of fun, and has some real "dang thats cool" moments. This is not a dark take on superheros, or a satire or the genre (or if it is its above my head). I think it does the litRPG/cultivation genres proud and im happy its apart of my library. The writing was very well done and the narration was top notch, definitely a book that's going to get a few re-listen's.

Excellent!

This is a fantastic and creative take on LITRPG/gamelit/progression fantasy. I really enjoyed it and look forward to (hopefully) future books.

Great story, excellent book.

This is a combination of superhero, alternate reality and LitRPG and it works very well.

A super villain (Dr Portals) from an alternative reality steals a device and uses it to enter our world but dies soon thereafter. However, Dr. David Mallory (a normal MD) happens to be around when the villain dies and is sucked through the portal into the alternate reality. In this reality everybody has the potential to gain super powers on the world called Hero World.

The only bit of the book that was too convenient was that Dr Mallory looks identical to Dr Portals, although a younger version of him. I expected this to be a twist in the plot but the twist never came up. Maybe in a later book...

Dr Mallory is convinced to train his newly gained super powers and infiltrate the criminal organisation that Dr Portals worked for and stole from.

An easy, fun book to listen to. The narrator, Jeffrey Kayer, was excellent. Well worth listening to.

I Love it!

Great story and narration!

Davis is just going through his ordinary life, when suddenly a portal opens up in front of him and somebody that looks very much like him steps through and soon after dies. Accidently falling trough the portal himself, he finds himself in a world where superheroes really exist! Now he must learn how to use his newfound powers to get by in the crazy new world.

Jeffrey does a great job with the narration!

I really enjoyed this audiobook. It was kind of a cross between a cultivation story and a supers story.

I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Got though it in a day and had fun doing so!

Dr. Davis Malory is a med resident transplanted to an alternate Earth. Surprise! Heroes and villains are real and they have healthcare. Now he must pose as the villain that brought him there to entrap a bigger fish.
The story is fast paced and fun. The world is interesting. Kind off reminds me of The Rules of Supervillainy! I really hope he makes more books that follow The Physician!

The Physician is in.

doppelganger for a villain., out of time and space but with power to manipulate both can one man make a difference in a broken system? Great story that is part Judge Dredd and part Justice League. In parts funny and thrilling with tremendous narration. Check it out!

great book crazy fun.

This book was action packed fun straight from the beginning. The main characters were fun and likeable, the story wasn't anything revolutionary but it moved with a good pace, neither rushed or crawling.

The fun of this book comes from dialogue, and the creative use of powers that inevitably will make the main character completely OP. But that's fine if you know what you are getting when you get this book.

This book delivers a superhero power fantasy and a good one at that. The main character feels like real guy thrust into superhero scenario and he's just winging it to the best of his abilities.

As far as superhero/gamelit goes this is the best of the genre that I have seen so far.

The narrator does an excellent job, has good pacing and characterization.

An entertaining trip into a world of heroes!

Every wondered what it'd be like to be sent to a world with heroes and villains? I think Planet Hero: Civilian does a great job exploring that very thing. Fun little jabs at the way heroes and villains banter and talk to each other and civilians. A nice look at some of the heroes themselves showing that everyone has faults, fears and issues to over come. Add on a nice litrpg/cultivation feel to the system they work in and I found the whole thing very entertaining.

Heroes vs. Villains

Sometimes I like to step outside my normal genres and listen to something different. I’m so glad I decided to listen to Planet Hero: Civilian... boy was I entertained.

M. A. Carlson came up with a fantastic storyline. An everyday civilian (ok, so he’s a doctor) gets pulled through a portal into a world of heroes and villains. He needs to cultivate his new found abilities and learn the ropes if he’s ever going to have a chance at getting back home. A great action packed story!

Jeffrey Kafer’s performance was great. He really brought out each of the elements of the story. Well done!

Great story but

This is a good quality audio book. I love litrpg and super hero stories.

Narrator did a great job but parts of the dialogue in the first half were very forced. This was fixed by the second half of the story.

I look forward to listening to book 2.
