Sometimes I think of how I will describe New York to my children. I will tell them that the city was in so many ways, and for such a long time, the best and worst thing about my life. That it was a sort of perpetual question in pursuit of an answer. And that in attempting to answer it, I turned and faced myself.

I’ve bought so many copy’s of this book
I love this book beyond words. It’s the book I always buy and gift to a girlfriend who has just moved to NYC. I read it when I first arrived and now after 4 years of calling New York my home. It speaks so much about growth in all the neighborhoods a New York resident loves. If you live in NY or are contemplating on moving here. I HIGHLY recommend this book.
