I liked it until book 3

The first book was the typical romance story, it was ok, not very deep but fun. The second story is a love story that stretched out through decades, it was deep and very good listen. The third story felt like I had an agenda shoved down my throat, there was a war against men (specifically white men) and monogamy is just a fruitless fight against human nature.

Well, I liked the first two and then the reading took a 180 turn and I was thrown for a loop. Loved the narration as always, I think it's funny sometimes because this is supposed to be Australia but everyone sounds like an American, was funny.

Overall, it was a good read but my god the third book was just too much, I had to skip over it.

Love the one you’re with and that’s always yourself!

A romance that speaks to the heart of understanding yourself and your partner and opening up to pleasure! The story certainly serves as a testimony to the benefits of a patient experienced lover and the support of good friends!

Three Books to Fall in Love with

No Strings Attached
Beneath The Surface
Everything Between Us
Three books and so much one story. They come alive as we grow in our knowledge of the characters. We walk through their passion, struggle, and romance. In the end we understand their lives and loves. Well worth the listening or reading. Maybe both.

loved the first 2. couldn't stomach the third

the first two books were great! the third book was sickening. so self loathing made me sick...I get that the main character is overweight. But the self loathing is way too much. I couldn't even retain her name. Too political 🤮

Pink Bean 1-3

This held my attention until the end of all three books. I find a little of myself in these pages. I am over the moon. Finding Harper Bliss is the best thing.

Fun listen for what it is

Book 1: Great story to listen to if you want a really steamy experience. Lots of hot sex. Micki is likable enough but the love interest, Robin, is never really developed. Robin's change of heart about her previous "no strings" ways comes from nowhere and we never understand much of anything about Robin that explains the change. It makes the story more wish-fulfillment for lesbian women who feel trapped in a straight marriage than a real, organic story. Still, I enjoyed it for what it was. Great story to listen to when doing other things which allow moments to enjoy some really fun steamy scenes. Book One is 3 star story, five performance, four overall.

Book 2: Best of the three. Much more character development as we get the story from both main character POVs. Unlike Book One where Robin was barely even two-dimensional, I came to empathize with both characters. Angela also did her awesome usual performance. Book Two is 5 starts all across.

Book 3: A radical departure from Book 1 & 2 in that it is told using first-person present. This tense can be done well, but it feels clunky here as it is so different from the previous books. Character development has some of the same problems as Book One. I am left wondering if the author had an editor for Book Two that was not involved for Book One and Three. Also, narrator Melissa Moran does it no favors with the fast-tempo reading speed. I had to slow the speed to 0.85 in order to properly enjoy it as much as was possible. Finally, I agree with those that the POV character focused so much on their size issue that it felt like a sledgehammer on the reader over the subject. It actually made it hard to immerse in the story. That characteristic is fine for a character, and I certainly can identify, but if I wanted to feel preached at I would be listening to non-fiction. Three stars across for the reasons above.

Amazingly Diverse Series

A recently divorced mother in her forties, Mickie, starts working at the Pink Bean coffee shop and opens up to the possibilities of Robin. Cheryl and Kristen own the Pink Bean. Their story is a testament to the love and strength of forever love. A triumph of caring and growth. Josephine is Cheryl’s teaching assistant and a plus size woman struggling with self esteem. Kaitlin is a recent returnee from the States and a feminist icon. An Age Gap story and a tender romance. Recommend series. Marvelous narration.

Give this series a shot!

I enjoyed all 3 books. Each gave different perspectives to lesbian relationships. I loved how each book kept moving characters from previous stories to the current story. I felt invested in each book more and more. The third book really brought to light the insecurities many women feel about sex, work performance, and art. Downloaded the next books! Can’t wait to see what’s next!

A writing challenge accomplished

I think it’s amazing when an author creates a story that holds your attention with characters of depth, humor, strength, and depth.
Ms. Bliss has succeeded in doing so, not only in one , but three!! 👍
Continuing a great story line with continuing cast of interesting characters who supply the foundation but also by introducing new dynamic characters who become the catalyst for each story.
Please enjoy these three books, while I sit back and enjoy boos 4 through 6 😊

Enjoy it

I love Harper Bliss stories. They’re all about building and working at relationships. All her books are amazing, they mean something and get their point across. My favorite story was the 2nd one. Even though I did relate to Micky’s story too and it was a great story!!! And Angela Dawe was not a bad narrator! I was looking forward to Josephine’s story but I didn’t like the 1st person narration or cared for the narrator! Sorry! But, it ruined the eclipse of the book for me!!! I’m still going to continue with more books though!!!
