Castilian Spanish Phase 1, Units 16-20 build on material taught in prior units. Each lesson provides 30 minutes of spoken language practice, with an introductory conversation, and new vocabulary and structures. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension, and on learning to speak Castilian Spanish. These units contain reading lessons designed to teach you to sound out words with correct pronunciation and accent. A reading booklet to be used with the audio lessons is also included in PDF format.

Pimsleur’s “Castilian Spanish” teaches the dialect that is the official language of Spain as spoken by the majority of Spanish-speakers in Spain.

Excellent spanish language course

Where does Castilian Spanish Phase 1, Unit 16-20 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Could not get into Rosetta Stone, but LOVE Pimsleur for both Spanish and German. My son is using it in prep to move to Spain and it is very, very helpful for him and I love the accompanying vocabulary word sheets that can be printed out so you also know how the words are spelled, not just how they are spoken. Highly recommend this. Very portable for listening to in the car or walking the dog since it is on Audible.

Have you listened to any of Pimsleur’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The repetition and the fact that you can listen to harder lessons over and over again helps you to master them.

Moving at a good pace

If you stick with the program this far, not only will you be having/understanding conversations in Spanish but now you can have them with humor and sass. Highly recommend!
