Detailed instructions enable you to understand and participate in the conversation. Practice for vocabulary introduced in previous lessons is included in each lesson. The emphasis is on pronunciation and comprehension and on learning to speak European Portuguese. A user's guide is included. Reading lessons are included at the end of each lesson to provide you with an introduction to reading European Portuguese. A reading booklet is included with your download.
The European Portuguese Language
Portuguese is the mother tongue of about 170 million people, mainly in Portugal and the Portuguese islands in the Atlantic, Brazil, and Portugal's former overseas provinces in Africa and Asia. Pimsleur's European Portuguese teaches the Lisbon dialect of Portuguese.

Do you know what the hardest thing for a Portuguese learner is? Finding proper reading material that they can handle…which is precisely the reason we’ve written this book! Teachers love giving out tough, expert-level literature to their students, books that present many new problems to the reader and force them to search for words in a dictionary every five minutes - it’s not entertaining, useful or motivating for the student at all, and many soon give up on learning at all!

An easy improvement would help a lot.
This book would be much improved if the dialect was written as well as oral. Sometimes I just couldn't tell what they were saying, even when slowed down to half speed. The method is good.
