Publisher's summary

Eighteen-year-old Germanic princess Cassius witnessed the destruction of her village by the Romans. Now, she is being made to serve a Roman senator as his slave. During the Battle of Teutoburg Forest in 9 AD, Cassius is forcefully abducted again, but this time by an unknown soldier named Sgt. Banks. Banks tells her that she is the key to his mission, which is to stop the death of millions. And even though Banks has the build and abilities of a Roman soldier, he is not a centurion. In fact, he is not a soldier of her time at all.

Neither Banks nor Cassius foresees that the stress from their journey has the potential of bringing out their previously contained inner demons, but it does. And when they are tested the most, their newfound feelings for each other could be their undoing and mankind’s as well.

Great story.

How you can tell an audio book is good? When you listen while you commute to work, but don’t want to go into office because you don’t want to stop listening. This story started powerful and there was purpose to the plot in every chapter. I felt the narrator rushed through the reading without even a subtle pause between where paragraphs probably were. That could have been better. However, the story itself, I did not want it to end. Intense, well-written, and touched on a lot of serious subjects. A must listen.

Proselytizing Science Fiction

I read the first story and thought it okay. This story was just awful. It read like a comic book at a church camp.

The story was weak and predictable. The reading was amateurish. I want my money back!
