Publisher's summary

Anne Elliot lives at Kellynch Hall with her two sisters and vain father, Sir Walter. When financial struggles begin to affect the Elliot family, they decide to move to Bath. Anne decides to visit before the move and runs into many old friends. Most surprisingly, she is reunited with Fredrick Wentworth, a past fiancé who, under advice from her father and a friend, Lady Russell, never married. Wentworth's lack of wealth and rank in the community were their main concerns, and therefore, eight years later, Anne is still unmarried, with few romantic prospects. However, through her journey and move, Anne may find that what she has been looking for was right in front of her the whole time.

The performance was excellent!

It was Jane Austin at her best, and was read by someone capable of voicing the characters in a very engaging way.

It is Jane but a bit lackluster in presentation.

Twists and turns were good. Narration was a bit droning. Overall good for a listen.

Rosalyn Landor's performance is brilliant!

I love Jane Austin, but have struggled to find a narrator that does her writing justice. Most are too dull, or over dramatized fort my liking. However, my search ended once I found this version narrated by Rosalyn Landor. I have found many books the better for Ms Landor's brilliant narration, and this was no exception. I highly, highly recommend this audio version of the book.

Jane Austen and Rosalyn Landor- A Perfect Match

The title of my review sums up my enjoyment of listening to this Audible book. Any Jane Austen book is worth reading; all of her books are classics. However, sometimes the colloquialisms, punctuation, etc. can occasionally make some portions of her books difficult to read. In a lesser narrator, they would be boring. However, Rosalyn Landor is my favorite narrator and she brought this book to life. She is able to differentiate the characters so that they are all distinct people while describing the events and Ann's inner thoughts in a way that increased my anticipation of what would follow. I cannot recommend an Audible book more highly.

A good reading

This is a good reading of Persuasion. If you collect various narrators of Jane Austen books then this would be one to add.

Rosalyn Landon brings Persuasion to life

I simply love Rosalyn Landor as a narrator. Her narration of this book is far superior than all others who have done so and gives the story a new dimension and vibrancy. All of Jane Austen’s works are particular favourites of mine but this one in particular. It is a sweet story of a love lost and found and one more over, that will stand the test of time. A truly timeless piece!

True love lasts forever.

Persuasion is my favorite book and always will be. Now more than ever we need the reminder that suffering is temporary, good things can last, and second chances are real.

Wonderful Rendition!!!

I am a huge fan of Jane Austen and I thought this audiobook completely encompassed the aesthetic of this book! Previously, I had read Persuasion on two occasions; and this was my first time listening to it on audible. I went in thinking that it would not compare to reading the book on my own, but I was pleasantly surprised. Rosalyn Landon’s voice makes this an enjoyable listening experience with her portrayals of each character and her easygoing British accent. With some audiobooks I have a hard time paying attention to the story if their voice is too distracting, but I had no problem getting into the story with this one!

Excellent Telling of a Favorite Story

While often overlooked among Austen's works, Persuasion is one of my all-time favorite books! The narrator was excellent and I so enjoyed listening to this story I've read so often.
