On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? Persephone from Athens, Georgia...Classic!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, I would...the narrator's voice was pleasant to listen to and she emphasized emotion when it came to situations of stress, excitement and sorrow.
What other book might you compare Persephone to and why?
I haven't read that many YA books pertaining to Greek mythology, but I would compare Persephone to the Percy Jackson series.
Which scene was your favorite?
When Persephone met the musician, Orpheus. I thought it was brilliant to bring in that character and his wife, Eurydice from mythology.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
As an avid reader of Greek mythology, I was giddy with delight and joy to see these deities come to life in modern time.
Any additional comments?
I love the author's take on how the Underworld is ran and that Hades is not the bad guy, everyone makes him out to be. A great story overall and would love to see this on film. One quote I would add to my Goodreads favorites, "Hades has the ability to kill you then torture you."

Amazing take on a classic tale!
Would you listen to Persephone again? Why?
YES. I would definitely listen to Persephone again and I plan on doing that many times. The story was wonderful and the characters were deep. I was able to get into the story very easily.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Persephone?
Hades kissing Persephone and marking her as his bride, omg. *chills* Didn't even know him yet but I fell in love right there.
What about Kaitlin Bevis’s performance did you like?
I loved how she added tone and snark to her character's dialogue. I didn't have to squint and figure things out myself, because Bevis let me know exactly what was going on at all times.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes, of course. But how am I supposed to share these moments without spoiling the whole story?
Any additional comments?
I loved the new take on the classic Greek myth of Persephone and Hades. Bevis did a wonderful job of taking a fairly-well-known story and turning it into something new and exciting!

Horrible Narration
The actual story was ok. You can tell it was a YA novel with it's cheesy dialogue. What really ruined this story was the narrator. She did not differentiate her voice at all! Every single character was the same monotone voice. Some of the time I didn't even know which character was speaking. It completely killed every scene. I loved it!
The author provided me with a complimentary copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I loved this audiobook! When I saw that the author had narrated her own book, my first thought was "this is going to be an awful book to listen to." Boy, was I ever wrong!! Kaitlin Bevis is amazing! Not only is the story good but she is an amazing narrator to boot! I loved the underworld and Hades and want to explore the relationship between him and Persephone more. I can't wait to hear what else Kaitlin Bevis has in store for us in this series!

A Myth With A Modern Twist
If you could sum up Persephone in three words, what would they be?
touching, magical, and it's a story you can't put down.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Hades was by far my favorite character, due to his quirky personality and his caring but cold persona.
Which scene was your favorite?
I love the book from beginning to end. It's hard to pick a favorite part because everything was so well written.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listened and read this book in one sitting. I did it with all Kaitlin's books. Every one of her stories is too captivating to put down.
Any additional comments?
I would recommend this series to anyone who loves mythology or a quick read. This is one of my favorite series I've ever stumbled upon.

Love mythology!
Where does Persephone rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Since Persephone was the first audio book I have listened to since way back when I will say audio books have come very far since those days. So it will be rated first in line for now.
What did you like best about this story?
I love the enthusiasm with which Kaitlin Bevis speaks, the way her voice got excited, quiet or whatever needed to set the tone.
Have you listened to any of Kaitlin Bevis’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first for now, I am moving on to the next in the series so I will let you know.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Have you ever wondered what realizing you are a Goddess would feel like?
Any additional comments?
I would recommend having this audio book around for those times you would like to be reading but can't stop to read, such as; exercising, car trips, doctor's office. I am sure you get the point.

Good story
The myth of Hades and Persephone has never been one of my favorites. My memories of hear this tale is a little vague, but I remember wondering, how can anyone like such an ugly rereading man? But, the current of the myth, bring the image of a modern and handsome man.
Compared to other books that also seek to o retell the myth, this is one of the most adorable and simple. The tale is well romanticized, but ends up being captivating.
