Outstanding Story & Listen🎧 Heartfelt & Moving!

Wow, what an amazing and beautiful story. This is my first book by Rie Anders and it will not be my last. I enjoyed her writing style, her descriptive details brings you right along side the characters, letting you see what they see, feel what they are feeling. Her characters are complex and well developed. I adored these characters especially Shaye and Nick, the secondary characters are amazing too. Also loved where the story is set, in the Northwest. This story is about young love that was ended by tragedy. My heart was broken for all involved. I will not go into detail but I highly recommend this emotionally charged story, there is so much to it. There is never a dull moment, plenty of drama, angst, twists, some fun time, some heart wrenching one all leading to a great romance, as well as friendships for life. Rie Anders thank you for this wonderful story and the emotional rollercoaster ride. You know how to bring out all the feels.

I listened to the Audible edition. Less Lamb is a terrific narrator and voice performer. She brings these characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality. She sets the perfect tone for the story and does an awesome job projecting the emotion of the characters into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

An excellent read/listen

This was my first Rie Anders book and I was hooked to Pavey Boulevard, the first book in The Island Series, from the beginning of the book. This is the story of Shay moving back to her family holiday home on Lopaz Island for the Summer to figure out what the future holds for her. Along the way she meets Jason, Nick and Evie, these three siblings that she has known since childhood and will change her life forever. This is just not a heartfelt love story but a story that will make you laugh, make you cry and keeps you wanting more. Lessa Lamb did an excellent job in narrating Pavey Boulevard and makes it vary easy to get enchanted with these characters and binge listen from beginning to end. I can not wait for the rest of Rie Anders Island Series to come out on audiobook and hope that Lessa Lamb continues to be the narrator for this series.

Pavey Boulevard is a must read/listen for 2021.

Loved the book! I need more!

I absolutely loved this book. It was such a nice change from the “normal” romance stories where real life tragedy happens instead of the stupid dramatic situations that many romance stories have. I seriously loved the characters and NEED more to this story. An epilogue or part 2 and 3. The author spend the perfect amount of time developing the characters and setting. I felt like I was there living as the heroine. The narrator was amazing too! I need to read more of this authors books right away!

Pavey Boulevard

After Shaye drops out of college her dad recommends that she go to Lopez Island for the summer to figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life. Soon after arriving on the island, she reconnects with childhood friends. Tragedy strikes and changes the lives of the friends forever. Eight years later Shaye returns to the island and soon comes face to face with her friends. She finds being back on the island more difficult than she imagined and isn’t sure she will be able to stay because of her guilt. She soon realizes that no one blames her for the tragedy of the past.
Pavey Boulevard is an emotional story of friendship, love, loss and betrayal. I love how and. Anders let us see Shaye struggle with her guilt and learn to accept what happened and move on. The two lead characters had great chemistry and were very likable. This book has the perfect blend of romance and drama.
Lessa Lamb did a wonderful job narrating and really brought the book to life.

Second chance romance

I must admit, I'm not a fan of love triangle storylines. That being said, I enjoyed this sweet and sexy story. When Shay takes a break from college and heads the island for a break she meets Jason and feels really safe with him. He's fun and sweet and she really enjoys spending time with him. And then she meets his older brother Nick and is instantly drawn to him. They both fight their feelings for each other. When tragedy happens on the island, Shay leaves and doesn't return for 8 years. I felt the author did a great joy with the growth of the characters in this short story.

Fast, fun read

I finished this in just one day - I couldn't stop listening, I needed to know what happened!

The audiobook narrator was perfect for Shaye, she was wonderful and would recommend this as audio.

This was a fun read - I picked this up on a whim and I'm so glad I did.

It's a fast paced contemporary romance. It takes place in the past when the main characters are college age and then in the present, 8 years later. Shaye is a likeable character and easy to relate to. She's easy going but has a good head on her shoulders, and I liked that.

While some of this was very predictable, the story actually took a turn I didn't expect and shocked me - so that was nice!

While this book was good, it was missing that certain spark to make it GREAT.

There were a lot of unnecessary descriptions of clothes. Like, a LOT. Every time Shaye walked into a new room someones outfit was described down to the smallest detail. I didn't feel like that was always necessary, and the way it was presented was straight forward and bland. Some of the descriptions were bland, but I did feel I could visualize the island pretty well - the outfits, I didn't always care about. The world building lacked slightly but didn't bother me too much.

Overall I enjoyed my trip to Lopez Island and would recommend if you're looking for a quick romance read. It's not super heavy on any actual sexual acts, so if you're looking for something light & fun, this is perfect.
