Publisher's summary

Vivian Miene lost the love of her life, or so she believed.....

Then one day, amidst danger, she thought she'd escaped, but he returns in time to save her, and her twin sister. The shock undoes her, and, as she picks up the pieces, she has to decide if he deserves a second chance.

Eric Black left because he believed it was the only way to keep Vivian safe. He was wrong. While in hiding, he had someone watching over her, but they were not to contact him unless Vivian needed him. He prayed that she never did. After one call, he drops everything to return to her. He didn't expect to find she wasn't the only one he'd left behind. She was pregnant when he disappeared, and he now has a son.

With Eric back in Vivian's life, and with no danger to prevent them being together, they have to decide what is next for them. They must unravel the secrets and lies before anything can be decided. The passion is still there, along with the love, but trust is fragile. In time, they might find what they need to make their relationship whole again; however, it might take everything they have to erase the imprint of betrayal from their hearts.

Loved it

This romantic tale follows two people with more lies than they can handle. But when they find that the lies that they thought were important weren’t nearly as important as the person they were keeping them from, they had to make choices to save the love that they had. I loved the characters in this book and the plot was riveting.

Short Novella Second Chance Romance

This is the first novella in the Daring Love Series. Vivian and Eric's second chance romance is fast-paced, emotional, and heartwarming, filled with secrets, drama, action, danger, and twists and turns. Kelsey-Ann O'Dowd did an excellent job bringing these characters and this story to life. She has a beautiful voice. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Desire and Jealousy, the next book in the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Getting a Second Chance.

The start of a very good series called Daring Love, this is a second chance story. Vivian Miene and Eric Black meet again when he saves her and her twin sister, she thought he was dead. the story has drama, danger, suspense, their son he did not know about and a second chance. The story is well worth listening to.

Too Short

I’m all about short stories, but it seemed like there was a lot missing in this story. It seemed very rushed and I wasn’t able to feel like I could get invested in the characters.

After reading the synopsis I expected a bit more suspense, a bit more angst, but it just seemed like a rush to the finish line. It had good potential and I enjoyed the narration.

Vivian and Eric

Book 1 of the Darling Love series. Vivian is an FBI agent, working a case. Eric is a key witness in a drug cartel case, then goes into hiding. Eric has someone keep tabs on Vivian, so he knows she is safe. When Vivian and her sister are kidnapped, Eric comes to the rescue. The two have a lot of chemistry, and some hot moments. It was an interesting story. Characters well developed. The narration was well done. I received a free copy of this audiobook from BookSprout and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Two Separate Stories Smashed into One

This book felt like an odd combination of parts. The book jumps into an action part of the story that happened some time before the bulk of the book with little preamble. While I am certainly no fan of info-dumping, I also don't like just being dropped into the middle of a circumstance with characters I don't know and care about yet, especially an action-packed and confusing one. It just sets me up poorly for the rest of the book. Then, the book made this radical change, instead becoming a romance between two people from the earlier part of the book. Honestly, these two very different parts felt as if they were from other stories, not the same one. A supposedly seriously ill young child makes for some heart-tugging moments, but I didn't feel invested in the characters enough to really have “the feels” because of how the book was set up. As a nurse, too, I found myself curious about the child’s supposed ailment. I loved how the primary doctor we saw never actually gave the parents a diagnosis or explained what happened to the child. Rather, after everything looking so life-threatening for a bit, he told the parents what the child didn't have and sent them home! Not terribly helpful. If this story had been set up correctly, it probably would have been enjoyable and brought all the feels. But as it was not, neither did it do so!
