Januar 1972 wurde "Papa, Charly hat gesagt..." zur vielleicht erfolgreichsten Hörspiel-Reihe der vergangenen 50 Jahre. Sie machte Gert Haucke und seinen Radio-Sohn Peter Heeckt zu Stars. Es gab kaum ein Thema, das Vater und Sohn nicht diskutierten: Arm und Reich, Frauen, Popmusik, Fußball, Ausländerpolitik, Auto, Umweltschutz, Antibabypille: Der Vater zog gegen die entwaffnende Logik des Sohns stets den Kürzeren - und der Witz der Serie trug entscheidend zur Entwicklung der liberalen Bundesrepublik bei.
