solid follow up

Panic Ensures is a solid follow up Chaos Erupts and continues the journey to take back America from foreign invaders. Like the first book, there is a ton of action, and while it hits all the right tropes for the genre, I'm a huge fan of the 'heroes' of the story. Not sure why, but I just don't really connect with Gunner or Miles. There's nothing particularly wrong with them, I just don't find that I like them as much as I've liked characters in many of Jack Hunt's other series. That being said, it's still a solid series. I was given a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

How many Miles Arrington will answer the call here

Volume two followed much of the same script as volume one. The militia was completely outmanned and outgunned but the militia continued to put up a valiant fight. Civilians struggled internally whether to join the militia, hideout on their own, or give in to become a collaborator. Several enemy entities exist; the PLA, a mercenary group called Death Dealers led by Santiago, and Morgan Jefferies Mayor of Camdenton. The Russians have not yet made an appearance. The second half of the volume focuses on a scary night air attack aka “Base jumping” on Branson aka “the PG version of Las Vegas” to rescue Darius the VIPs believed to be there. I hope you enjoy this exciting addition to the Outlaws of the Midwest series as I did. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Book 2 Continues a Good Series

I was given this free review copy audio-book at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This review is for the audio copy of Panic Ensues - Outlaws of the Midwest, Book Two by Jack Hunt and narrated by Chris Monteiro. Book 2 does not disappoint. Good solid narration and good story line makes for a great continuation to the story. I’m looking forward to the continuation of the series.

2nd of Series

This is not your typical EMP series by Jack Hunt has more military component. The US as well as other countries are bombed and EMP occurs thru the Midwest and Chinese troops are taking over the small towns. People are tortured, starved and killed. The primary character is Miles; he and does more for the people than the national guards saving them. There are more characters such as Gunnar Nelson and Arianna, I was upset with the ending concerning Scarlett and August. Look forward to next book to see more adventures Miles as he helps more people and the rest of the characters. I was given this free review copy audiobook and have voluntarily left this review. THANK YOU

Seemingly Nonstop Action!

Jack Hunt's novel "Panic Ensues" is a great continuation in the series "Outlaws of the Midwest" as there is seemingly nonstop action throughout the entirety of the audiobook. Having said that, there is a lot that goes on in this audiobook, in fact too much to list for a review. Needless to say it is very much still entertaining and you will be surprised by some of the dramatic scenes in this particular audiobook from Jack Hunt. The narrator, Chris Monteiro does a consistent job in this second novel following his performance in the first novel. If you like this review as well as the audiobook's description than by all means buy a copy and enjoy it for yourself. I purchased my copy of this audiobook and I am freely giving my opinion and review of said audiobook.

Loved this continuation!

This adventure continues with Miles, Gunner and the others still trying to overcome the Chinese and Russians. This one easily kept my interest as I always wondered what would happen next. At time I was disappointed because I thought certain storyline were dropped after book one. But I just had to bide my time and most of them came along nicely. This is a great continuation of book 1. I enjoyed it and it does answer some questions. I did listen to this one audio. Chris a Monteiro did the narration and I am happy to listen to him anytime. Very enjoyable!

"You can't get lard unless you boil a hog."

This is an unusual post apocalyptic story, well written, proposing a situation where America has been invaded by Chinese troops some five years previously and the war was still continuing through various opposition forces, including a malitia. Certain personalities have achieved near mythical status, one of whom, the Hunter, is a main character in this story as he, with others, continues to battle for the right to stay alive. Panic Ensues is the second of the Outlaws of the Midwest trilogy. Unfortunately, book one was not available on Audible so the audible reader is thrown straight into the story without the build up background, and it takes a little while to untangle what has gone before in order that the current book can be fully appreciated. Because of this, one star in the rating has been deducted. Not only the ongoing story but also characterization is built on book one. It is a tribute to the author that even with so much missing, this was an exciting and involving read. The ending is both surprising and encourages a strong desire to move on to book three. Narration is by Chris Monteiro - a fine performance, clear, well paced and invested fully in the story. His voice is pleasant with good modulation and he gives individual voicing for all of the characters. Mr.Monteiro's reading adds to the pleasure of the book. I was fortunate in being freely gifted with a complimentary copy of Panic Ensues, at my request, via Audiobook Boom. Thank you so much. I hope that the audio book of the first in this series will be available soon, and with it also book three, which I definitely intend to read. Recommended.

Entertaining

I really enjoyed this book, it was fast paced, action packed with some shocking plot twists. it captured my attention from the beginning. The characters were memorable, particularly Miles, I can't wait for book 3 to find out whats next for him, the narration by Chris Monteiro was great. I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
